I'm from Indiana in the U.S. and I doubt I could pass through people in my small city and get their 3DS information. The nearest city is a little over 40 minutes away and I'll be closer to there when I go to college. Right now, though, I'm not going to get much in my hometown.

I've had about five street passes in total. Live in Birmingham UK and it would seem not many people have their 3DS with them when they walk around the city centre.
I've been trying since I got mine and still not a single one. I'm baffled. I live in Chicago and have taken it on busy bus routes many times. I've also taken it on some pretty long car rides and a road trip to Minneapolis. I'm Taking it on a road trip to D.C. (washington) this weekend and hoping to get something there at a show I'll be working on, but I'm losing faith in it. Does anyone have any idea what the proximity distance needs to be and how long contact needs to be for it to work? i.e. like 1 second or more like 30 seconds or something? Would passing another car with one be close/ long enough to make contact? Just curious.
Great question. I have no idea, but I'm assuming the timing would definitely be more on what you're sending, too. I'm wondering if partial transfers work or not, though. Like if you send a 15 second audio clip (for example), plus SF4 data, plus Ridge Racer data, etc etc, but you break contact before it sends all of it, would it still take what it had sent? If not, I should probably take my audio clip off (which is about a minute)
Wait one second....you are allowed to record audio to be sent via StreetPass? I searched around for that function and could not find it. The only StreetPass functionality I found was putting together a 5 item list of one's favorite songs. Please explain how to send Audio data.
Well, did you see the little button on the left-hand side of the menu that says "streetpass?" Make sure it's turned on, then add a song to the StreetPass playlist. that *should*transfer it over. To the best of my knowledge, at least Dunno about audio clips (haven't messed around with them at all), I was just using thta as an example
And Stine, I do know at least one person in Oslo with a 3DS that goes out with StreetPass on. I haven't had the chance to use it with him, but you'd at least have a shot Let's hope I get at least one hit in Lillestrøm today, though

No Street Pass hits yet here in Tulsa, despite taking my 3DS everywhere I go since the day I got it (launch day). Guess my next big opportunity will be when I go to the mall to pick up Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection next week. Would be ironic to get my first Street Pass hit going to pick up a PSP game LOL! If not then, SURELY when I pick up Ocarina of Time June 19th. If I don't get a hit then, I'm going to lose all faith in Tulsa 3DS owners!
Hope if I get a hit eventually, they have a light blue shirt too so I can break this one ghosts' light blue shield. I'm sucking at luck of the draw on Find Mii when I hire heroes.

Sadly, society being what it is, people are probably afraid of someone trying to steal their 3DS. Or bashing them over the head with a large object, then stealing it. There are some real lowlife losers out there. Know there are a lot of them here in Tulsa, because I saw them at my last job.
Take it to college everyday and nothing. I see people playing older version DSs but still, no SPs for me.

Hang around train and bus stations! I got my first ever street-pass yesterday at Bristol station whilst travelling on the train (cos my car's in the garage). I picked up two more this morning at Bath train and bus stations. Happy, happy, joy, joy!
Well, I got 2 hits in Oslo today. One of them had just played SF4, which I have. I go in to check my battle stats: looks like I forgot to activate it again after my last team edit? Lame.

I missed out on a major StreetPass opportunity... I completely forgot that Nintendo was hosting a Pokemon Black/White competition and over 100 people turned up for the event! o-o Dah!! headdesk
Today I was out walking in a fairly busy town centre. No street passes at all. Even went into a Game store hoping they'd have their demo machine on. Nothing. Then I went into a Costco in Derby (England) and saw they had a demo machine on display that was open to the Face Raiders menu. I looked at my 3DS and sure enough - Street Pass!! Whoot!! I checked my Mii Plaza when I got home and saw the Mii was the generic 'male' by the name of Costco. He was a lousy fighter, but at least I got a puzzle piece off him. LOL
