Topic: Street Pass Opportunities

I guess mostly teenagers play portable systems in my surroundings. And those are more likely to have a PSP since all the "cool" and "gangsta" games are on it. _{And that's not meant to criticize the PSP, just people who only play certain games to seem cool.} If it was on an iPad, iPod or iPhone i guess mine would explode because of getting too many hits though.
But well, i'll hopefully find out it's different once i get my hardcase.

It might actually be a good idea to bring it to a gym's locker room or a barber shop. Because i guess many of the ladies there will find this feature adorably cute and make good use of it.
And you may get the advantage of getting more differently coloured Miis for Find Mii too.

Might i ask if it really were more than 10 hits that you could use? Because i read somewhere you can only use ten Miis in Find Mii at once.

My streetpass hits have been picking up a bit at my college. I got 3 hits from 3 new people today!

He probably checked inbetween so he would not have 10 at once. So 11 hits in total. Not at once.

I've been trying since I got mine and still not a single one. I'm baffled. I live in Chicago and have taken it on busy bus routes many times. I've also taken it on some pretty long car rides and a road trip to Minneapolis. I'm Taking it on a road trip to D.C. (washington) this weekend and hoping to get something there at a show I'll be working on, but I'm losing faith in it.
Does anyone have any idea what the proximity distance needs to be and how long contact needs to be for it to work? i.e. like 1 second or more like 30 seconds or something? Would passing another car with one be close/ long enough to make contact? Just curious.

Have you:
Turned the Wireless Switch on?
Enabled Streetpass for everything? All the games and apps that use Streetpass require that you turn it on first.

Great question. I have no idea, but I'm assuming the timing would definitely be more on what you're sending, too. I'm wondering if partial transfers work or not, though. Like if you send a 15 second audio clip (for example), plus SF4 data, plus Ridge Racer data, etc etc, but you break contact before it sends all of it, would it still take what it had sent? If not, I should probably take my audio clip off (which is about a minute)

Yup, I checked all the settings like 50 times, I'm sure it's on, I just don't hang out with hoards of high school kids, and it seems like, for now that's the only crowd that will have them (outside of the occasional closet 30 something nintendonerds like some of us here). I hate being in those game stores, too, but it seems like that's the only place to get a hit so I can try it out.

@LTD: Well, it was around 11 hits spaced out over incarnations of 2, 3, and 4 Miis per time I checked.

Pretty much exactly the same case here. :/ I still haven't got a single StreetPass hit. Even if I did go to Oslo one day, I'd probably be too scared to carry it with me. I'll be patient, though. There'll be someone near me who gets it eventually; there just has to be.

I just wanted to know 'cause i guess my only chance to make progress in the Mii Plaza games will be revisiting the annual game convention in Cologne. And the more Miis it can store _{without having me using them directly} the better it would be then.

Wait one second....you are allowed to record audio to be sent via StreetPass? I searched around for that function and could not find it. The only StreetPass functionality I found was putting together a 5 item list of one's favorite songs. Please explain how to send Audio data.

Wow, I got lucky! I just got into a fight with a ghost holding a light blue shield, and not long later I got streetpassed by someone wearing light blue clothes! Shield = Shattered!

I'm impressed at how many hits people seem to be getting, given that the device has only been out for a couple weeks. This sounds like something that could actually be viable pretty quickly most places.

I finally got my first StreetPass hit at college today. Tomorrow, I'm going to the mall, so I'll see if I can get any hits there.
