I just uninstalled it. It quickly became tedious and boring.

The 3D in SpeedX is really impressive on my phone, considering my phone doesn't have stereoscopic 3D visuals like the 3DS. But that's about it as far as things that impress.

Arent you the one that spends hours on Bird Mania 3D?

Yep, that be me. I truly gravitated to Bird Mania 3D. This game, not so much.

Played it earlier today, and am really enjoying it. Very pleasant surprise, and it manages to be both relaxing and engaging at once. Diggin' it.

OMG, I just saw the Video of SpeedX 3D in the eShop. Can't believe how choppy and laggy it is. The mobile version completely blows this away. I'm not even joking here.

I got the game today and its NOT choppy and laggy, on the video it must be showing easy mode or something since easy is slow but the game runs smooth.

Thanks, I was just about to Edit my comment to say, "Please someone tell me the actual game isn't this laggy".

I'm not kidding about the video, check it out for yourself if you don't believe me. Kinda makes me wanna download the game again on my phone.

bezerker99

I might have to check it out since you guys are playing it and liking it!

EDIT: To be honest, I can't stand the motion (gyro) controls on the mobile version. IIRC, the NL review I read says the 3DS uses Circle Pad

I just played it for the first time. Loved it. Relaxing and intense at the same time; a nice, trippy little experience that I see myself zoning out to a lot in the future. The 3D is literally candy for the eyes and melts your brain into happy goo. Glad I bought this.

When I close my eyes, I see pixilated blood.

I got it and I'm liking it. Its not a terribly complex game (quite simplistic actually) but its fun to play and the 3D depth is absolutely outstanding on it. Its truly thrilling weaving around obstacles as they fly toward you very quickly. Definitely a great thing to just pick up and play for a few minutes and also a grwat showcase of the system's 3D feature to others. Worth the price of admission.

I saw the video on the eShop. I gotta say; the 3D effect is AMAZING here! I really felt like I was going through a tunnel or something. It was awesome. But everything else sucked. It does look too slow for a racing type game. I'm tempted to get this for the 3D effect alone, but that's silly and I know I'd regret that.

The 3D is amazing! Looking at the eshop folder it just pops out. The only problem is after @kawka 's remark I am not buying. Maybe the kangaroo game but that's all I'm buying from them until an apology

Have you played Angry Birds? Because what they said is nothing compared to Rovio or several other companies. Or Super Meat Boy? Team Meat has also made quite a few arrogant remarks.

I'm just saying, if it matters to you what the devs are saying, most games shouldn't be available.

Rovio or Team Meat never set up a user account on my website for the sole purpose of pretending to be a gamer and flaming me for giving their game a bad review score. They pulled a similar stunt in the comments section of the review on this site.

Arrogance is one thing. Using deceit to attack a journalist or a website's community because they marked down your game is quite possibly the least professional behaviour possible.

If Gamelion was a developer that meant anything, that behaviour would have blown up in their face and gone viral.

Philip_J_Reed

Def loving this one. I've spent around two hours with it already, just doing the main stages. I haven't even tried the other modes yet. Very happy and surprised with this one!

You do know it has 4 different speeds right? What you're seeing is probably easy mode.

Not much of a stand you're making if you're still going to buy another of their games anyway.

See, the last sentence follows the same tone as your review, in rather then criticize the game, you criticize the people behind it using personal attacks.
It'd be best to avoid that, although I have seen it elsewhere (NL against BPlus).

And I'm honestly not against you or anything (played this game on my phone, started decent but is now hovering towards a 5/10), I'm just trying to state possibilities. Even so, their comments were uncalled for, I will say.

@OlympicCho, I read your review of the game. Besides sounding really unprofessional in your review, I was shocked by just how inaccurate all the info was. You say it is slow, even comparing it to a turtle moving through water. This would be ridiculous to say about even the easy setting. The insane setting moves at a blinding speed. It feels as fast, if not faster than the F-Zero games. If that's slow then I don't know what's fast. You said the controls were terrible. Don't blame the game because you aren't good at it. If you could turn any faster you'd be accidentally hitting blocks all the time. It allows you to move fast, but also allows for subtle movements in it's current form, which is what you need in a game like this. And those are just a few of the highly inaccurate statements that were made.

But don't get me wrong, there are definitely problems with the game (most of which you never even mentioned). A big problem is the lack of variety, which you mentioned briefly between rants about the speed and controls. Another big problem that wasn't brought up is not only the lack of leaderboards, but the lack of any way to check all of your records in one place. You have to play a mode to see your high score in it, which is ridiculous. There is a stat option in the menu, but it only tracks how many times you play, not your high scores!

I'm trying to help your reviews feel more reliable to the readers. There is a line drawn between what is opinion and what is just a fact and shouldn't be debated. I don't have a problem that you didn't like the game, but let's at least be honest. If you would have addressed the real problems and then said you just weren't a fan of the gameplay, it would have been a little more understandable. But as it stands, your review sounds like more of a personal vendetta against the developer than anything. Once again, it's not like I'm a crazy fanboy about this game or anything. I don't care about the score, that's opinion, but what is said in the review should be accurate.

Just because you can handle inferior controls does not make them good. The game is clunky, and I called it as I saw it. I like racing games. I play a lot of them. Almost all of them play better than this.

I was so unengaged with the game I didn't care what my scores are, and therefore a leaderboard would have been a pointless addition.

I'm trying to help your reviews feel more reliable to the readers.

And who are you again?

There is a line drawn between what is opinion and what is just a fact and shouldn't be debated.

Fact, you say? For a fact the speed of the game annoyed me. For a fact the sticky sideways acceleration when turning was clunky and uncomfortable to me. These are facts.

The fact is that you were able to enjoy the game despite the controls (or perhaps even because of them), but the fact is that there are a number of different approaches that can be taken with racing physics, and this one annoyed me greatly.

The only vendetta I have going on here is a vendetta against bad game design. Life's too short for crap like this.

You're response made it clear that your reviews can't be taken seriously.

You would think that if you want me to take you seriously as a critic of my journalism, you could at least get your own grammar right.

It never ceases to amaze me how people can take reviews personally. You don't like my review? Great, NintendoLife has a far more positive review. Attacking me over my subjective analysis of a game that you had no part in beyond buying it? Nice.
