Topic: Rebooting Pokémon Moon?

I purchased a pre owned Pokémon Moon cartridge with a saved game on it. How do I delete the profile and game so I can start over? Are any switch games compatible with the 3DS XL?

@Nehru_Amidala I wouldn't know myself since I've never deleted a Pokemon save file before but the answer should just be on Youtube if you look it up though. By the way, do you have Pokemon Bank? If you do, I would highly suggest looking at the Pokemon on that save file and moving the ones you like to Bank. That way, the Pokemon are kept but you can still restart the game in good conscience (at least that's what i would do, you do whatever works for you).

During the introductory movie, press up on the D-Pad, as well as holding X and B simultaneously. This will take you to a screen that will confirm whether you wish to delete the save data on the cartridge.

But like @Fizza said, it may be worth transferring any rare/legendary Pokémon over to Pokémon Bank for safekeeping before doing so.

And no, Switch games are not compatible with the 3DS family of systems and vice versa.
