I am crushed that the 3DS eShop shut down, but I grabbed a couple goodies before the end! My 3DS has served me well through hard times in the past decade and I am very thankful for all of the games I have had the opportunity to play. Here's my humble collection!

Full games:
Animal Crossing New Leaf, Super Mario Maker 3DS, New Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario 3D Land, Metal Gear Solid 3D Snake Eater, Fire Emblem Awakening, Bravely Default, Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Trilogy, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Resident Evil Revelations, Resident Evil The Mercenaries 3D

Indie Games:
Kokuga, Shovel Knight, Azure Striker Gunvolt, Liberation Maiden, Pushmo, Retro City Rampage, Fairune, Steel Empire, Mighty Gunvolt, Gunman Clive, Boxboy, Pocket Card Jockey

Classics:
3D Classics Kirby's Adventure, 3D Gunstar Heroes, 3D Classics Twinbee, Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, The Legend of Zelda, Earthbound, Mega Man 2, River City Ransom, Summer Carnival '92 Recca, Donkey Kong Country, The Legend of the Mystical Ninja, Kirby's Dream Course, The Mysterious Murasame Castle

Virtual Console Game Boy Games:
Kirby's Pinball Land, Kirby's Dream Land, Kirby's Dream Land 2, Super Mario Land, Super Mario Land 2, Avenging Spirit, Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon

Virtual Console Game Boy Color Games:
Pokemon Crystal Version, The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening DX, Harvest Moon, Harvest Moon 3, Legend of the River King 2, Shantae, and finally, on its own, Sonic Game Gear.

Other apps I grabbed include Pokemon Picross, Pokemon Shuffle, Rusty's Real Deal Baseball, and Badge Arcade.

Additional 3DS Cartridges I own:
Super Smash Bros. 3DS, Ocarina of Time, Xenoblade, Captain Toad, Starfox 64 3D, and Etrian Mystery Dungeon

My final 3DS eshop Shopping Spree was $70 for 14 games, some of them for a pittance. I walked away with the following:
Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Trilogy, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Resident Evil Revelations, Resident Evil The Mercenaries 3D, Gunman Clive, Boxboy, Pocket Card Jockey, Summer Carnival '92 Recca, Donkey Kong Country, The Legend Of the Mystical Ninja, Kirby's Dream Course, Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon, and Harvest Moon 3.

My thought is, in the case of apocalyptic disaster, my 3DS will serve as good entertainment. I tried to cover various genres and get some important eshop classics. I would love suggestions / recommendations as to what cartridges to get next. I was thinking maybe Kirby Triple Deluxe, Zelda A Link Between Worlds, maybe Mario Kart, I dunno what else! Did I do my 3DS well in the eShop's dying days?? I wanted to buy more but I didn't feel that I could commit more than $70 in that moment!

$70 for 14 games is pretty good! I ended up spending at least £200 between 3DS and Wii U since the eShop shutdown was announced 😅

I don't want to know how much I've spent on the 3DS and WiiU in the lead-up to the closure, but I at the very least got some good stuff before it closed like Rhythm heaven megamix, all six Pheonix Wright games for $12, the silver falls series, the surprisingly good dsi ware title Face Pilots, and the Dillion trilogy among other things.

I basically spent about an 85% of my year’s worth of gaming money on the 3DS eShop alone.

Too bad the 3ds eshop doesn’t really have an easy way to calculate your spendings. The account movements menu is very inconsistent about showing amounts.

It's probably for the best that they weren't counting.

I'd have to say that I mostly limited my eShop purchases to games that you couldn't get on cartridge and hadn't been ported to other systems. There were still a heck of a lot of them though. The 3D classics (both Sega and Nintendo), BoxBoys, PullBlox/Pushmos and Guild games were my highlights.

Anyway, if's off to the high seas if you want them now.
