Topic: Question about Mii Plaza

So i've met 2 people through street pass and one of them is here at my work so hes my friend as well but when i go to Mii Plaza and try to either get puzzle pieces form them or even try to use them as heroes it tells me always that i haven't met anyone. Am i missing something here or am i not doing something correctly?
