They'll snub the anniversary or give us Pokken Fighters and a couple Virtual Console games (prob some DS or GBA thing no one cares about, not the RPGs or Colosseums bc obvs reasons), also a slim chance of some bland Mystery Gift Pkmn for ORAS/whatever new game will be out, then call it a day.
Some random dude on Nintendo Life.
Toriel left for a while, so Freaky Fred took over her place!
Not changing this part of the signature until Nintendo announces Super Mario Sunshine 2.

@Bolt_Strike: Plus, I doubt an angry mob would be the reaction to a Yellow remake.
Anyways, we're getting at least two Pokemon games next year - Pokken Tournament and the next main series game. There might be more spinoffs too, and probably some DLC for Super Mystery Dungeon as well. Maybe we'll get that Pikachu detective game next year. Maybe we'll see a sequel to Pokemon Dash on mobile.
Pokémon R/B/Y/G/S/C Virtual Console with an addition of connecting to the Poké Bank. Never going to happen but a guy can dream. And why not include R/S/E/FR/LG/D/P/Pl/HG/SS/B/W/B2/W2 to Wii U Virtual Console while I'm at it. It would be awesome to have every main game with an ability to connect to Poké Bank.
It's its, not it's.

That's actually a little more feasible, but IDK if it would happen.
lol why would they remake a game boy game on Wii U. Pokemon is their best handheld franchise. they see it as a portable game. they always have. this Skyrim meets Pokemon isn't coming.
Virtual Console Pokémon with Bank support? Now that's just madness. That's like expecting cross-compatibility between a PS1 and a PS4 game. It's not going to happen. Besides, all Pokémon should be possible to capture with just the 3DS games, making it even less likely that Game Freak are going to bother going through the trouble of adding unnecessary functionality between a current and near 20 year old game, especially since it is already possible to transfer Pokémon from all the way back in Gen 3 through to the current games (is that not enough?).
We'd be really lucky if the main series Pokémon GB/GBC games come to the eShop at all. I would also love to see the GBA/DS games on the Wii U eShop. I might just buy a Wii U for my sister if that happens.

I said: A guy can dream. I know it won't happen. I wish it would. I want a Rattata that knows Water Gun in X/X. Why? Just for fun. It can't be taught in later generations. I don't think it's even that hard to do since Bank is a separate program. It needs to access save data, search for Pokémon, save their data to bank and delete it from saved game. There shouldn't be a need to do anything to the game itself. Just update the Bank with extra functionality. Unfortunately they never go for the extra mile.
Now that I think about it, I could take a look on how the save data is constructed and try to make my own bank. But that would mean I'd need to download an emulator to test it out... It would be a nice challenge though. The main problem would be accessing the info in save data since it most likely looks like a big mess. Nintendo and Game Freak have the advantage cause they know how the save is constructed. Went a bit off-topic but I just found the subject interesting.
EDIT: I checked how the data is structured in Pokémon Red. Luckily Bulbapedia has all the information needed. I edited the save file a bit and succeeded in changing my name from Late to Lase and I also added a level 5 Rhydon to my party with 0 stats (the game froze when a Pidgey tried to use Gust on my Rhydon) and moves by their hex number 01, 02, 03 and 04, they turned out to be Pound, Karate Chop, Doubleslap and Comet Punch. I'll leave my research as I don't really like having things like emulators on my laptop. I'll keep the save data so I can build a program around that if I ever have time and interest to try make my own Bank program.
I'm pretty sure the "detective pikachu" was just simply the name of a project they were working on. Could've been Mystery Dungeon, could be the third gen 6 installments (remember post game is about being a detective) or could be something in the future.
Kinda like how metroid other m was called "Project M" during it's development.

Another possibility is that it was cancelled (with any assets possibly being put towards a different game altogether). A detective game with Pikachu doesn't interest me in the slightest. There are already enough cop shows on TV and plenty of crime-themed point-and-click adventure games on PC and 3DS. Plus, I'm really sick to death of seeing Pikachu get shoe-horned into anything Pokémon-related. I'd rather see some new Pokémon spin-offs starring other characters. Last time I checked, the franchise is called "Pokémon", not "Pikachu". He needs to be rested for a while, or at least step back a little from the spotlight.
"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"

I know it's possible. After all, the original Game Boy games are only 1MB each (still amazed at how much they've squeezed into a single megabyte after all these years), and are far less complicated code-wise than their contemporaries. I was simply pointing out that it's an unnecessary feature that is unlikely to be implemented considering that all currently available Pokémon can be obtained with just X/Y and OR/AS.
If you want a surfing Rattata that badly (at least in the newer games), have you ever considered using a cheating device instead?

@sillygostly: It's not necessary but it would still be an awesome addition. I for one would love to transfer the Pokémon I've trained from my older games to new games so they aren't just waiting for the battery to die and die with it. You could bring your favorites and shiny Pokémon into 6th generation. I don't think there's anyone opposing that idea. And the Water Gun Rattata was just an example since there are moves that can't be learned in newer games but it would make it legal if you could transfer the Pokémon from an older game. I don't know if there are any Pokémon + move combinations that help in competitive play or anything but it would still be great, And just to clarify, I'm against cheating in games.
And as I said, there's no need to touch the rom data, just the save file. Pretty much anyone can edit their save file with the help of Bulbapedia's documentation. PokéBank is the only software that would need an update in order to make it work since it handles the data between games.
I said from the beginning that it will never happen. It's just a dream of mine (like a game with all the regions). I'm just saying that it wouldn't be that big of a job for them to make these things available if they wanted to. I don't know why they don't though. I'm pretty sure old Pokémon games would still sell well even though there are remakes. They could bring more life to them by allowing trading (they even have download play on some of the NES multiplayer games) and PokéBank usage.
It's its, not it's.
