Topic: Pokemon Z

Giratina's Origin Form was revealed in February 2008 while Platinum itself wasn't until May, so it could take as long as October to get a game announcement.

@Bolt_Strike: You and I are guys who really love Pokemon Platinum and wants Gamefreak to carry that same magic in each Pokemon installment. Hopefully Gamefreak really wows us in Pokemon Z. Always a chance it can be good.

Love this drawing. Zygarde 10% Form kind of reminds me of Houndoom. I'm looking forward to seeing more details about "Pokemon Z" in the future; I'm expecting this to come west mid to late next year.

To jump into part of the debate above, I also prefer the sprite-based graphics as they lend more to the imagination and seem more colorful/detailed. That's not to say that I hate the 3D environments, as there truly were some breathtaking moments when I played through Y, and there have been a few so far as I play through OR.

What is Zygarde's background anyway? What exactly makes him special besides his Forms??? I forgot what the Kalos Dex says on him.

He basically monitors the ecosystem of Kalos, watching over its balance, and protects it from those who seek to destroy it. When it falls into disarray, he appears and reveals his "secret power".

That ones cute too.

I still do not understand the forms and stuff so I am waiting for them to explain it for a video game perspective but for the anime it seems interesting.

Shame we all ignored this. To be honest they probably using the energy from voltorbs because in the pokemon world everyone uses voltorbs

Maybe Devon uses the life energy of the Pokemon from a different universe.

To quote the Dex entries (credit goes to Serebii)...
X/OR: When the Kalos region's ecosystem falls into disarray, it appears and reveals its secret power. (Pretty close to what Aromaiden posted)
Y/AS: It's hypothesized that it's monitoring those who destroy the ecosystem from deep in the cave where it lives. (Thus, it being the Order Pokemon makes sense)

Anime Trailer is out

Pokemon Z (inevitably) confirmed. And is the anime trailer hinting at what Pokemon Z's story will be like...? The lady with the pink hair from X/Y's Looker's side quest is in this anime and she's actually doing stuff in the anime now. In X/Y... I think she was just laying on a couch or something in the Hotel and she said stuff to you. MAYBE... she has a bigger role in Pokemon Z.

But yeah... Pokemon Z is coming.

That lady with pink hair already had a bigger role in X and Y.

She (secretly) works for Lyssandre, is a newscaster (she appears in the holocaster) and a member of the elite four.

She's the chick who said she wanted to burn you alive everytime you visited her at the E4.

A question, what does everyone think of gamefreaks decision to make a Pokemon Z (nearly confirmed) game and not a Pokemon X2/Y2?

They are just names, so it doesn't really matter. I prefer there only being 3 games in a generation, instead of 4.

One, lay off my mask mate.
Two, eh I think Z would be nice if it was a new story like bw2 were.

Her name's Malva BTW.

And considering all of that, she doesn't have that big a role in the storyline. There's so much potential for her to get more involved in the storyline and bring some neat plot twists, but you don't even meet her until Team Flare is defeated. And that's one reason I want an XY2 over Z, because it'd be much easier to make that happen with a new storyline built from the ground up than trying to edit XY's storyline for that to work.

Well... It's a larger role compared to "that lady you speak with once as part of Looker's quests".

And yeah, haha @Blast: I actually had no idea she was the same lady from the holocaster until I read her bulbapedia page.

I so want to see Malva as the big bad for next year's games. Screw Lysandre, Malva actually has a bit more depth and personality. She's also intimidating.
