Ghost probably will never happen as a starter type, it'd be too OP in the early game because of the Normal immunity and it'd be hard to come up with a concept for a starter that would suddenly gain the type when it evolves or Mega Evolves. Fairy would be interesting though, I'd like to see a Grass/Fairy or Fire/Fairy starter.
I think it could be interesting if Starting Pokemon's first evolution was based off Friendliness. Would add a new dynamic to them and make their evolution a little less expected than 16/36
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
Maybe this is just me, but I've always had this ambitious thought that Gamefreak should make your usual three initial starters, and then have those branch out into several different evolutionary lines (still keeping the usual two-stage formula) based on how you treat the Pokemon before evolving Pokemon. Tyrogue uses a similar concept to this.
Perhaps stats/amie/general happiness/the number of times your Pokemon faints could all be contributing factors?
@Meowpheel I'm not saying it's based on like and dislike, I'm saying that it'd be based on the various levels of how much your Pokemon likes you. It takes a while to max that out, I should know. Anyway, I thought it'd be an interesting concept, whether it be stat based or whatever. That way there are more options and possibilities with each starter. Then again, this pretty much all stems from my dislike for Delphox, and longing for the potential it had. Braixen looks so awesome... why did Delphox have to ruin that evolutionary line, WHY!?
They should end the distinction between TMs and HMs. I don't mind the need for moves outside of battle as I like that kind of Metroidvania-esque exploration. HMs don't even have to be replaced with key items per se. What I really find annoying is that there's just too many of them, taking up valuable slots for crappy moves like Rock Smash and Cut that you use only in a few spots. Since TMs are permanent items and can be used over and over since Black & White, there is no difference with HMs left, other than that HM moves can't be deleted unless you visit the Move Deleter. Let's say all HMs are now TMs and you could just delete their moves at will. I don't see the problem as long as the game prompts you to not just use a move, but also prompts you to teach it. Let's say I want to use Surf or Strength, but I don't have a Pokémon that knows it. Why not just prompt the player to teach it when he or she checks out that pond or boulder, so that even newer players can figure out what they are supposed to do without getting stuck all the time. This way, you can just delete a move you tought with a TM, temporarily replace it with a move you need right now and then replace it again afterward. This way, you avoid having to constantly be stuck with moves that aren't that great in battle, like Rock Smash, Whirlpool or Cut, without having to replace every HM with an Eon Flute-like item.
Corocoro leaked the starters! I'm on mobile so I can't individually upload, grab links for, and paste the pictures themselves but if anyone else wants to do it feel free. Hopefully this isn't fake or anything. Looks real enough to me. I mean it's got in game screenshots of their in game models and everything.

@Detective_TeeJay: The guy who runs Serebii. He also said that so far it looks like this months CoroCoro doesn't contain any information on Pokémon Sun and Moon.
