I've done about as much digging as I can stomach. Here is the image, the part with Mallow is cut off. Knock yourself out with google image search if you care to
@Haru17 Judging from the time it was posted and from the trailer we just got, it doesn't seem to be a mere coincidence. Plus talks of a non traditional league being present.
If you look at the middle picture in the provided link below with the sketch of the trainers, you'll come across the Grass trial leader: http://puu.sh/qlWKt/c2ab3a955d.jpg

Crime doesn't pay, unless you are really good at it then those who are legal criminals ...
Gumshoos is supposed to be a detective. It's name is literally gumshoe + mongoose. Gumshoe is another word for a detective (hence Detective Gumshoe in the Ace Attorney series). It even has the ability Stakeout.
I wonder if island challenges are taking the place of gyms. Makes me wonder if we will even have an Elite Four.
I wondered this as well. I wouldn't mind seeing the gym formula shaken up a bit, and that seems to be what they're doing. Done right, this may be quite a refreshing change.
The alternate forms of the Ninetales and Sandslash lines didn't appeal to me at first, but they're starting to grow on me. They seem a little out of place in a tropical region, but from what I understand the higher peaks of Hawaii do occasionally get snow. At least most of their designs look neat. Exeggutor, though? Ugh. I think I prefer its original form (which is saying something).
Most of the new Pokemon are meh, but I do like Mudbray and Gumshoos, particularly the latter's punny, detective-like name. This is saying something as I'm generally not too fond of Normal types.
Z-moves look like a really cool way to shake up the battling formula. I'm not a competitive battler, but I wonder how something like this will affect competitions. The new bracelet has me wondering if Mega Evolution will return.
Riding Pokemon is always a plus. I know I've brought it up before, but it would be cool if there was a kind of Soaring mechanic that could be used with almost any Flying type.
Totem Pokemon also looks like an interesting concept; it looks like a nice spin on Horde battles.
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet - The Indigo Disk, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
Hmm, I just noticed Exeggutor's alt. is a dragon type. Makes me hate him all the more.
As a grass trainer, I am super excited to have a Dragon type now. However, my brother is an Ice trainer, which makes him worthless in my sibling rivalry lol
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
Thank. God. That crystal wasn't Burst Heart/Synchro or whatever.
So Sycamore was studying Mega Stones, and now Kukui is studying pokemon moves. So will this be a new battle gimmick for the generation that will be replaced by something else in Gen 8?
Even though there's no Mega evolutions shown off yet, I'm not sure we can rule them out entirely. The main focus for this gen is Z Moves obviously, but they function similarly to Megas, as a Pokemon has to hold an item and it can only be used once per battle.
I can see an endgame quest where you also get a Mega Stone and are able to use either Megas or Z Moves. Maybe Sycamore will meet up with Kukui and tell you about Mega Evolution. Plus, the Z must have something to do with Zygarde, which in turn has to do with Kalos... Maybe we will return to Kalos after all?
