@Klimbatize:
My M Banette is at 8 level, Giratina and Gengar at level 9 and Chandelure at 7. But it seems that the key is the use of the powerups as I hardly make a dent in Cresselias' HP. I tried with disruption and mega speed boost to no avail. What powerups did you use?
By the way I practically breezed from levels 51 to 97 with this set of Pokemons, with no powerups whatsoever. I also managed to beat levels 98 and 99 with no powerups but with just a bit of luck.
@Nintendo_Ninja:
Well, several times. Then, I just start grinding for coins and move on. I regularly play on 3 different 3ds (to rack up streetpass hits), so after spending 5 bucks on the first I became more conscious off when using my jewels (I managed to amass 12 jewels in one) so I don't feel like spending many powerups -leave alone real money- to finish one level.
@Xyphon22: For Chesnaught, I used a maxed Audino, Arceus, and Snorlax. You can sub out Snorlax for Lickilicky or Blissey. Basically you want the highest-powered Normals with Arceus. I used Mega Start, Disruption Delay, and Time +10. What you must do is trigger Arceus' Double Normal as soon as possible. His power makes all other Normals in the combo do 2.5x damage, including himself. In a four Pokemon stage I prefer using Mega Gengar over Audino because he enables me to keep a combo going longer. And that's the key, you must keep the combo going as long as possible. The longer you do, the more damage your Normal guys do, and it makes using them worth it over super effectives.
I used this for the last Blaziken competition and I finished in the top 200. If you looked at the top 5 scores from that, four of them used the Normal strategy I just described.
For timed levels, this is the best strategy because you can keep the combo going on for a long time. In non-timed, the Normal strategy is not as effective as using super effectives.
Hope this helps.
EDIT: @maceng How leveled are your Pokemon? By level 100 I was using all maxed out Pokemon. I used Mega Banette, Giratina, Genesect, and Gengar. Powerups helped me push through.
The only reward after 100 is at 200, which is another Speed Up candy. Not worth it, I've heard, as around level 150 it starts getting to the point where you need powerups quite often to beat levels. Not worth the coins/hearts if that's the case.
Well that didn't work at all. Couldn't even beat it, let alone fast enough. Of course, my Arceus is level 7 and none of my other Normal-types are above level 4, so I'm sure that is why. I guess I will have to try to find a different way, and just get lucky. Thanks for the idea, though.
@Xyphon22: It's much more likely to succeed with maxed Normals, and you have to be good at keeping combos going the entire time. Sorry it didn't work out.
@maceng Yeah, level 100 was the first level where I actually had to buy a powerup, I believe. Perhaps 50, can't remember. I bought +5 moves, Attack Power, and Disruption Delay just to be safe. I beat it handily with that combo of powerups and maxed Pokemon.
@Nintendo_Ninja No. I just grind level 37 for coins (can get 530 coins 60-70% of the time per heart), and if I need to level up Pokemon I use level 130 with 1.5x exp. I got four Normals from level 1 to max in about three days doing that, but I also had a large stack of coins. At the moment I have everything S-ranked and caught, so I'm just building my coin mountain for the update Monday, which will include new main stages, a Tepig challenge, and a new Safari.
Each level gives [Total Moves] EXP. All EX Stages give 10 EXP, regardless of the time limit.
Remaining Moves, Bonus Combo, Overkill and Type Matchups have no effect.
If you don't manage to defeat the Pokemon, you get:
[Total Moves] * [Percentage Damage Done]% EXP.
For example 64% damage on Ampharos would get you 32 EXP (50*64%). The crowned Pokemon in the results gets a 2x multiplier, receiving double the EXP. The crowned Pokemon is the one that's removed the most, including those which are removed by a Mega Evolved Pokemon's effects.
The amount of EXP a Pokemon needs to level up depends on its starting Attack Power:
Starting Attack 30 = 50 Base EXP.
Starting Attack 40 = 55 Base EXP.
Starting Attack 50 = 60 Base EXP.
Starting Attack 60 = 65 Base EXP.
Starting Attack 70 = 70 Base EXP.
Starting Attack 80 = 75 Base EXP.
Other values are not checked yet.
Each level is harder to reach than the last.
Lv.2: Base EXP * 1
Lv.3: Base EXP * 2 (total: 3x)
Lv.4: Base EXP * 3 (total: 6x)
Lv.5: Base EXP * 3 (total: 9x)
Lv.6: Base EXP * 9 (total: 18x)
Lv.7: Base EXP * 15 (total: 33x)
Lv.8: Base EXP * 18 (total: 51x)
Lv.9: Base EXP * 21 (total: 72x)
Lv.MAX: Base EXP * 24 (total: 96x)
Also, Victini gives base 400 experience to all your Pokemon, and 800 to the crowned one. Make sure you always use the 1.5x experience powerup when you play it.
New levels incoming? NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
I was hoping to finish S-Ranking the original expert levels before that happened... maybe I should take advantage of the jewel sale
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
Main levels will always be there though. I always focus on the events before levels. S-ranking expert levels doesn't get you anything additional by the way (at least, not at the moment), so I only tried to S-rank them when I had nothing else to do.

This is exactly what I do. Shoot, I haven't even caught all the expert yet. I've mainly been focusing on leveling above all else. Think I have about 20 Pokemon maxed out and about 20 more above level 8.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.

Then how do I unlock Genesect and the X/Y starter levels? Aren't those expert levels? Don't I need to S-Rank all the original levels (including expert) to unlock genesect?

I don't think you need to S-rank the expert levels, just the regular ones.
I have never bothered spending time ranking up my Pokemon, but I think I may have to try. Is Ampharos' stage still better to use than Snorlax's? Because you get 55 moves in Snorlax as opposed to 50.
I like Ampharos' level better because it's easier to beat and get full experience. If you are upgrading fighting types then Snorlax is better.
@DefHalen I was responding to your comment about S-rank expert levels. I was saying that's not necessary. But yes, you do need to get a certain number of S-ranks to get Genesect. I don't remember what it is anymore. 165, I think. Greninja is pretty good, too. You need like 200 S ranks to unlock his expert level.

@Klimbatize:
That's a really high rate for the Mewtwo challenge! I usually try to get 330 coins to be on the safe side, and I get it like 80% of the time. For the 530 coins, I have like a 30% chance to get it (I usually end up with 20-50 HP points from beating Mewtwo).

I don't think I'd be able to do it. Unless I max my Pokemon.. But I think that between levels 9 and 10 there is not much difference. Am I right? I know every bit helps but at the moment, using Disruption I only managed to destroy about 30% of Cresselia's HP.
I've never seen that Phione one, but I've seen the other six multiple times and still only been able to catch two of them (the Normal one and the Ground one that you get 10 moves). It doesn't help that in each set of five hearts, I see those two at least three of the five, sometimes four. I figured since I have 14 days to get them I'm not going to worry about using Great Balls yet, but if I get down to single digit days and still haven't caught any more, I may have to.
