Nice, @Morpheel. You must have been just sitting there for a while lol.
I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke! My YouTube Channel! Video game related, of course! My Pushmo Levels
Easy Safari for me. Got all 5 within 24 hours, buying exactly one great ball. I used Mega Mewtwo, and two psychic 'mon with Mega Boost. Once Mewtwo mega-ed, it was combo city and game over.
Make sure you get Manetric. Next week there's a Maneteic Mega stone challenge.
I caught 4 of the Pokemon (all except manetric) on both my 3ds xl without using any Power ups. I've faced Manetric 2 times, and managed like a 28% chance of catching it. Next time, I will a MegaBall to the tsble to see if I can catch it.
Does the candy upgrades permanently affect the evolving time of the mega pokemon or just for one play? I've been keeping a couple I got for a good opportunity.
I've spent like 50 hearts milking Meow in order to get more S outcomes. I just got up to Yveltal on both of my 3ds xl's (missing Blaziken, but it is not a big lost).
Is there any reason to hold on to my gems? I'm at the point to where all I need are some more S ranks, and I don't think I can get anymore without using major upgrades like Complexity -1. I've been holding onto my gems, but I'm not really sure why. I have 18 of them, and wondering if I should go ahead and spend 12 so I don't have to waste my time playing Meowth so often, or if there is a good reason to keep them.
Not really. Gems just buy coins and hearts. If you manage to beat the special challenges every time (like Giratina, Pokemon Safari, Victini, and so on) without using many coins (like spending 1,500-2,500 for each), and you have managed to get almost all of the Extra Pokemon, then trying to beat difficult Pokemons at the S rank is more important.
I'm all caught up with Shuffle with the exception of optional S ranks for Chesnaught and Greninja. I have caught them, but they're only A ranks, I was just too slow. If anyone has tips for them, I'm all ears.
All the Pokemon in Safari were caught within a day this time. Manectric got away from me the first time I encountered it, but I caught him the second time he showed up. It seems the encounter rates are much better this time around. Sharpedo took me a few days to encounter during the first Safari.
@dizzy_boy: Thanks for the heads up on the code. Moves+5 definitely comes in handy.
@Xyphon22: As it currently stands, there's not much reason to hang onto jewels, but I'm currently sitting on 5, 1 from each of the last two repeat events and 3 from StreetPasses. You can trade them in for hearts or money, but extra hearts are useless and the more you trade in at once for money, the more bonus money you'll get. The only reasons I'd have to hang onto them is just in case there's a difficult EX stage where you haven't caught the Pokemon and that you have almost beat, if trade in a jewel when it asks and then proceed to knock it out, you'll have a higher catch rate from time remaining. The other is purely speculative and it's just in case they decide to add the ability to purchase Mega Speed Up for jewels. I'm currently sitting on my two Mega Speed Ups, I never got around to getting the third, but I'm debating which Pokemon I should use them on.
What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.
Yeah, I'm not sure why I've been against using them. Someone on here mentioned awhile ago the strategy @sykotek mentioned of using 1 at the end of the 30-second EX stages to make them easier to catch, and I have done that once, but that is the only time I have used one I think. But the thought of using them to buy Mega Speed Ups seems plausible, so maybe I will hold on to them just in case since those could be useful and who knows how many we will be able to get otherwise.
That is a waste!! Using a gem (a 3,000 coins item) just t prolong or extent for 5 second is a complete waste. Why, you ask? These extra 5 seconds don't help u with the catchability chances, so you will still have like a 1-5% chance to grab the Pokemon, which is very low. My advice? Just keep upgrading your Pokemon until you can finish the stage with at least a third of the original time remaining. For example, if you are planning on catching Xerneas use strong Pokemon so you defeat him with at least 20 seconds left. Then you'll have a 35-40% chance of grabbing it.Is better to spend your coins on Mega Starts and on Disruption delays.

Actually the one time I used it, it added 15 seconds, not 5 (it was on that fire chicken one, Blaziken or something like that). On a 30 second stage, that gave me over a 40% chance to catch it (I only used it when I knew I would beat it in only one more hit). So that was much more worthwhile than spending the upgrade coins over and over again until I finally caught it.

Incorrect. If you use a gem after running out of time/moves, the remaining time/moves DOES add to the catchability rate. The powerup that adds time/moves BEFORE a match does not add to the catchability rate.
Yeah, definitely worth it to use a gem on those 30-second expert stages if you can get it down to a fraction of health without using items so then a gem plus great ball will pretty much guarantee you the catch vs spending so many coins on all the items. I always try to keep at least one gem just in case of new expert stages or special event stages where it might be useful, but otherwise; save them up and turn them into coins when you need them to save you from having to grind Meowth for a while.
I use Mega Lucario , heatran , ninetales , groudon , all lvl 7 and I lose every time 😒😒 and I spent all my coins on capturing heatran so what's an easy way to farm a lot of coins in a small amount of time?
