@Rob_mc_1: I was stuck on him for awhile too. Lost a couple of hearts and some coin. Pretty confident Disruption Delay will only mess up your run as it's his disruptions that will clear the board. Have you tried going back with Tangrowth since you've caught him though? Some stages are much easier when you bring back the caught Pokemon. I'd help verify for you, but I just ran out of hearts after finishing catching the normal stage Pokemon. Now, just gotta go back and S-rank them and catch the new Expert Pokemon in 2.5 hours.

@sykotek
I know he would be easier if you take the same pokemon in. I have no question on that. But lets say you play the level ten times. 2 of those times those blocks turn into Tangrowth removing all of them completely while the other 8 times the blocks just disappear all together. leaving the frozen Tangrowth intact. It is almost like the script is broken.

@Rob_mc_1: I played the level 3 times in all and will be trying to S rank it in the future.

First time, I barely lost and the ice blocks were there the entire time.
Second time, I had Disruption Delay because I couldn't remember if they were there right at start or if they were an immediate disruption upon start, again, barely lost, ice the whole time.
Third time, I finally won.

I'm pretty confident that it is glitched and if you bypass the first disruption attempt somehow, you're screwed on the level. It would make sense since it's Mega Glalie that is auto chosen for optimize. I'd just avoid making Glalie matches or not bring him to battle at all.

@dizzy_boy: I didn't get any free jewels. What are they for?

I somehow managed to make it all the way up to stage 40 with Giratina, and have run through all the main stages (but only with 4 S ranks from first attempts, and only 2 catches... (Conkeldurr and Blitzle)), but I'm just concentrating with Giratina at the mo. I figure that the Candy at stage 100 will really improve my chances at later competitions. (I don't plan on using any of them yet). Tangrowth does seem to be a bit erratic, as I only just scraped through by the skin of my teeth first time. I'll try again at a later date.

Level 50 Giratina adds Shaymins to the field and freezes things each turn ;-;

I used all power ups and defeated Giratina level 50 pretty easily

So where exactly are people seeing that we get another candy if we can beat level 100?

I am not going to even try. I would have been ok with every 10 levels as they continue to get more difficult but every 50 levels just doesn't seem worth it.

Yeah, I beat level 50, that was good enough for me. So is it only possible to have the 2 candies so far (or 3 if you can beat level 100), or are there other ways to get more?

It doesn't seem worth it to defeat a level 100.

Though I never had to buy powerups, there were a couple of times when I had only 1 move left (including level 50). If the difficulty keeps ramping up then powerups will become a necessity to win, and candy doesn't seem worth the potential loss of thousands of coins and a minimum of 50 hearts.

I just beat level 51 (barely), so I'll be comcentrating on those new Expert levels now.

@dizzy_boy Thanks!

I got a 108 combo on Darumaka , I crushed the Blastoise comp., and I'm still having trouble with Dialga. Although if I use an attack plus I'm sure I'll have no problems, I just don't want to fork over the coins.

I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke!

The only one I haven't caught is Darumaka, who I've only seen one time. Is he pretty rare, like Sharpedo was last time, or am I just unlucky in not finding him?

@MasterWario the safari is on for the next two weeks, you could just pick some strong pokemon, level them up and try again in couple of days time.

For Dialga? He's only on for the next week. I've already got Heatran, Lucario, and Ninetails for that; the issue is the first 5 turns are pretty much a waste, and Mega Aero is not very-effective. Mega Gengar is a decent pick but if Diagla throws the disruption in the wrong way you aren't getting any matches, and Mega Lucario is a combo breaker.

@Xyphon22 Darumaka is the most common one for me. I think it's all random.

Oh apparently the next mega stone competition is going to be for Manetric, so I'd try and catch him on the Safari. (Source Serebii)

Darumaka is very common, so you had very different luck from most people. The hard ones to encounter are Darmanitan and Manectric, so people should save their great balls for those two.

MasterWario

Err...is Dialga in the safari for you?

Mega Gengar pretty much destroys anything in the safari.
