I'd recommend to get good elemental coverage and leveling up the Megas (khangaskhan is great) before trying those special stages or mew.

Buying extra turns beforehand and saving for a great ball also works if you want to catch them.

So anyone use any money yet?

I think people can get through this game completely without using any money. I've made a lot of progress so far, so I don't really feel the need to use any.

Even though I been constantly hating on this game, I downloaded it and enjoyed what I played. Even though it slow pace I kinda find it enjoyable. You have no idea how hype I was getting a 33 hit combo on Pichu with only one move. Also, does anyone knows if the timer for more hearts run while I'm not playing the game and when the 3DS is turned off?
Edit: Nevermind, it still runs when both of those things happen.

So auto-hating and pre-judging a game is actually silly.

Reading through the mew experiences makes me feel special for being lucky enough to get it in my second try with no special items

Yes I know I was being dumb for pre-judging it, but I'm not really friendly when it comes to any microtransaction. Even if it minor microtransaction it brings the worst out of me. I will admit to being a dummy.

I managed an 82 combo on the Pichu level.

I think I will give this a try after all, I'm not really a pokeman fan, but a free game that is fun is a must get!, but is the replay value good or is it limited levels?

There are many many short levels with scores, grades based on best score and, of course, each has a pokemon to catch.

Many of them also have unique gimmicks.

I'd say the levels are pretty replayable.

Hah just a few hours after we talked about meowth's coins, a new special level about them is released.

Also, it seems that due to some unknown problems yesterday they gave me a free gem.

Yay.

I just caught Mew on my first try. I did use coin upgrades (+5 moves, and Mega Start with Sabeleye). I probably could have done without the 5 extra moves because I beat him with just six, but I got most of my coins back anyhow, with the 1,000 you get for clearing the stage once, plus the 1,400 I got in the special Meowth stage mentioned above.

I guess some people who tried to buy gems couldn't or something to that effect.

I have been leveling my megas, specially khangaskhan and audino. For some reason I also like to have Eevee or Meowth around those two, their ability is rather useful.

I don't really favor any Pokémon in general. I just cycle the optimize button until I see a configuration I like (I do like having Sabeleye as my mega, though).

Same here. 100% truth here.

Umm… Care to have some gravy?

Eel

Oh wow Lopunny is pretty though.

So far the only normal level that I have had to retry more than once to beat.

It's advisable to get at least two of each type.

The later levels tend to rely on the elemental match ups.

what are the catch rates on the ex stages? thinking about saving my great balls for those

My avatar is from here

Eel

The only extra stage I have managed to beat is Lucario, it's base catch rate was 1% and each remaining second became another extra 1%

It's brutal I know.

Those will require a lot of grinding and/or luck.

Got Mew yesterday from the event. But I can't beat the Expert levels... Any advise on how to beat Absol (EX -1) quickly and with a chance to capture him?
