Just found out that the streetpass' hits limit is 9999. I'm currently at 9913, with a prediction of reaching it by Wednesday's night or Thursday's morning. You supposedly get 2 jewels and that's it: no more jewels from streetpassing!!

I'll probably lose my mind.

In other news I hit max coins today so I decided to continue playing the latest main stages, starting from Psyduck which I was unable to beat before. I went itemless and had little difficulties with it. I still have only used coins for great balls so things are looking alright now.

I S-rsanked Excadrill (19 moves left) with a DD and +5 Moves, using a M-Rayquazza (now fully candied), Palkia, Kyurem (8) and Virizion.

Did a trial run on Tyrannitar and it seems that a S-ranked is achievable using just DD, MS and +5Moves.

But Aromatisse really requires a full item run unless I bring Sprtizee with me, and fully maxed.

Nnnnnnnoooooooooo!!!

Ugh…………… ugh…. ugh……. ugh……………..

I've been lucky with the 1 percenters so far, but this is going to be torturous (and expensive). I p'ed away 2-3 jewels just to catch Mesprit (I was furious by how unnecessarily difficult it was too ).

Have any of you had luck with Dialgia for skilling it up? I beat it like 70% of the time, but no boosters dropping whatsoever.

While I will stick with Pokémon Shuffle until the bitter end (considering the hours that I've poured into it), but I'm swearing off all other free-to-play games. Hell, I wouldn't still be playing Shuffle now if I hadn't been there since the very beginning (it would have been near impossible to steadily progress and collect all of the special events otherwise), and I only gave the iOS version a couple of weeks before giving up on it (which wasn't fun at all).

Tyrannitar beat with just a MS and +5 Moves, using Groudon (skill level 4), Garchomp, T-Landorus and M-Aero. 20 moves left, so +5 Moves wasn't needed.

QFT.

I try to break away every once in a while but I always find myself coming back. Right now I'm only checking in each mornign and doing the special stages (Victini, Meowth) as my backlog is getting too big.

I play it as often as possible, which is quite pathetic. But I've come to let go and not take my 3DS with me everywhere for the sole purpose of making the most of my Shuffle hearts as possible (it's quite embarrassing/pathetic when doing it in front of company).

I'm close to S-ranking all of the main stages (I have about 15 to go), plus another 3 or so expert stages. I've obtained every Mega Stone and special Pokémon except for Jirachi, which is yet to be repeated (I didn't have internet access in the very, very brief period that it was made available last year).

I haven't bothered trying to obtain any skill boosters yet as I want to keep afloat of all of the main/special stages before pursuing anything else. I rarely make it to the end of any of the escalation battles as they're much too time-consuming/costly for what they have to offer. One of the Zygarde stages was just absolutely obscene. I'd be surprised if any new players would be at all inclined in taking up this dirty, dirty habit.

I spent 2-3 hours a day playing it. The thought of losing a heart and, therefore, coins, is dreadful (I remember losing out on the final stages of the Cresselia EB for lack of coins/time).

I still see PS as a nice diversion: every stage is different, the bosses (be them Expert stages, Competitions, and so on) and the abilities of the Pokemon are so diverse that it's... engaging. Still, it has definitely grow unfair: when you need jewels to beat a certain EB stage (looking at you Zygarde 300), when repeats are re-balanced in a way that you can't win every single time to gather a skill booster (which sometimes drop, sometimes not, even if you beat the stage), then is no fun.

Recently hit 9999 streetpasses. No more jewels every 100 hits (already at 10100+), which is a bummer: I'll need to buy jewels in order to beat certain EB levels for sure.

I still love it, but it's been an uphill battle trying to catch up with this game...

I started playing around fall last year, and for a while ignored the special stages for some reason. Now they're all I focus on since they're limited-time, but I still have a lot left to do.

I've only unlocked and caught the EX stages up to Mewtwo. Kinda stopped going for S-Ranks due to being occupied with Special and it's harder to get S-Ranks now without spending coins. I'm only at about 230 on the main stages, so I still have catching up to do there.

When it comes to EBs, I usually dont have the hearts or coins to get very far — I usually stop at roughly Lv50 and move on. I love safaris so those take up my time instead.

At least I'm getting better, as Ive caught good Pokemon and Megas lately, and the special events have mostly repeated what I've already caught. But I don't know you guys do it.

tldr: I guess what I'm trying to say is, this game isn't very accessible.

@FriedSquid I think that if you want to catch every single Pokemon and do every Safari and rank among the top tier in competitions, then, this game is not accessible at all. But, if you just want to have a decent team of Pokemons, dabble into the EB (till level 100 is very doable) and manage to catch a Expert Pokemon every 2 weeks, then it is accessible.

GS is making it a bit more accessible for newbies having so many repeats, but is discouraging long-time players with the last bosses on the EB competitions (needing 1-2 jewels to beat the boss, really?). Also, I'm so bummed that no more jewels after 9999 streetpasses that I'm thinking of switching to my backup 3DS (6800 streetpasses, 33 jewels to obtain), that has about 80% of all the Pokemons of my main 3DS.

Got shiny gyrados! No jewels needed either! What teams are you guys using?

I'm going with mega rayquaza, zekrom and electrive

Shiny Gyrados caught in my 8th heart. No need for jewels: got like a 34% chance, had to use a Great Ball.

Caught most except Tranquill (met thrice) and Shiny Magikarp.

Beat Cloyster like 5-6 times. Nice boost in EXP (100) for both Manetric (level 8) and Magnezone (level 9). My other team member is Zekrom (max) , indispensable for those steel block ridden stages.

Day 1 results of the new safari:

Caught every single pokemon except for Unfezant and Shiny Gyarados.

Encountered Shiny Gyarados 0 times.
Encountered Shiny Magikarp 1 time, finished with two moves remaining and was able to catch it in a regular pokeball at around 24 % catch rate.
Met Unfezant about 4-6 times, beat it with only a couple of moves left every single time, managed to not catch it at all. My best catch rate for Unfezant was 44 % (great ball) and I threw about 5-6 great balls at it, but it just wouldn't stay inside the ball. I had to quit to HOME menu when it eventually ran away.

I hope I won't need any jewels for Shiny Gyarados since I have none and won't be buying any either. That is, of course, IF I ever even encounter the darn thing.

Sigh All pokes apart from the two shinies caught, all on first try barring Shellder, which took a few. Last time this happened was Phione's Safari, so I'm gonna be in for the long haul, I think...

On the plus side, M-Gengar, Zekrom, Magnezone is working quite well.

A puzzle solved is its own reward.
