@Klimbatize: Did you get to level 200? If you did, how does it stands compared to level 150, in terms of Latias health?

@Eat_Pie: It all comes down on how leveled-up are your Pokemons. If you team is at level 3-4, then stage 50 is a good goal. If you manage to level a bit more (having Xerneas and Dragonite at levels 6-7), then you might get to level 100. Level 70 is not that difficult: you need a few powerups, which Latias already dispensed.

@Morpheel: You know what? That makes a lot of sense!!

I've spent possibly 100K or more getting 6-8 Mega candies!!

Gonna go and spend some time sleeping.

@maceng
My team is level 3,4,5, and 6/7(I alternate between the two), so I'll probably stop at 50.

@maceng: I'm on level 190. Had to stop for a while and make sure my entire team was max level because I was losing about half the time from 185-190. Up until that point it was pretty much smooth sailing.

So I have 10 more levels to go, may have to buy a few +5 moves, and I'm sure level 200 will be very expensive and even cost a gem or two. Will likely have it completed by tonight if I'm not busy. I'll let you know how it goes.

An open question for everybody...

How have you spent the Mega candies on your Mega Pokemons? I've used several on Ampharos, Lucario and Banette, one on Gengar (duh!) and I've been saving 4 to use on Garchomp (used one so far) as I think is the most useful Mega so far (ground types and Fight types are very efficient against 5 other types).

Switched to Gengar as my mega, and it has helped. The combos are necessary to keep the disruptions from coming, thus the switch. Level 193 now.

My mega speedups:
Mewtwo Y: 5/5
Latias: 4/12
Garchomp: 1/10
Gengar: 1/1
Lucario: 2/4
Heracross: 1/6
Banette: 3/8

Many times the decision to give speed ups had to do with whatever competition I was competing in that week.

Pixie Power would probably be the best to use here, as Fairy is also super effective, which means that it's more effective than using Double Normal (If I've got my calculations right). Palkia's annoying, so I'm just meowth grinding so I can blaze both it and the competition in one fell swoop. I've stopped at 150 for Latias. I really don't think I'll have the time and coins to put into it.

Also, @Eat_Pie I'd advise going to Level 70 if you can. It's not much further than the Mega Stone, but the Mega Candies are really useful.
What team are you using? I'd advise Mega Glalie, with Xerneas, Dragonite (A surprisingly easy catch), and whatever else you have that's super-effective.

Finished 200. I used every powerup (minus 1.5x exp) and fortunately didn't have to use a gem. I used Gengar as my mega for the last 15 or so levels. Levels 197-197 I bought +5 moves, and still lost half the time. Overall, not too expensive for four mega speed ups.

@TheXReturns
I don't know, I might. I'm on level 42 right now. I still have 8 more levels to go, as well as the Absol tournament and Dialga to do. If I have time left, I'll try and get to 70.
My team is pretty bad, as I recently started playing Pokémon Shuffle. It's Mega Khangaskhan/Sableye(I switch between the two), Latias, Azumarill, and Slurpuff.

@Eat_Pie: Sorry to rain on your parade, but, yes, your team is a bit underwhelming. Some very good Pokemons can be found on the Expert stages, like Dragonite and Xerneas, which has been very useful.

TheXReturns

Dragonite's the easiest to catch, but I'd advise stopping when you get to 50, and plowing through the main stages. More megas'll make things easier. Don't do the comp until the very last day, and just go full out with whatever is your strongest team and as many items as you can buy.
That way you'll have the strongest team you can when you use your items.

@Klimbatize: Using Mega Gengar for the last 20 stages to 200. Breezed thru 151-180 using Latias (9), Dragonite (9), Xerneas (maxed) and Dalcie (9). Mega Latias usually cleans house better than M Gengar, but Gengar evolves a lot faster, so saving up a few precious moves. If push comes to shove, I'll just wait til Saturday to max all my team.

A trial run on Absol landed me on the top 5,000 (no powerups). Palkia is not a walk in the park: couldn't even beat it on my first dry run!!

Used the Normal strategy on Absol but didn't do as well as I had hoped. It took me a while to trigger Double Normal and then I lost the combo with about 20 seconds left. Scored just over 42k and was ranked somewhere in the 800s last night, but not entirely confident that holds up for a mega speed up. I'll be ready to make another run or two on Sunday if needed.

Maybe you can do something similar with fairy types. I think there's an ability that does the same as arceus's but with fairy attacks.

Pixie Power. It's on Togekiss, but I think the best scores'll still be Double Normals, as the pros have got used to seeing those icons now.

Yeah, and Pixie Power doesn't trigger as easily. I have tried a Pixie Power team on other competitions and levels. I prefer Double Normal because it gives more room for error, especially since I don't have an unlimited stack of coins from a hacked verison, like a lot of the top scorers do. I can only attempt a competition so many times, so I have to go with what will most likely produce the highest score for me.

Does anyone have advice for Latias level 50? I just got there today, and tried it, but I failed miserably. I barely took off any of its health. My team is pretty bad, so I'll probably have to rely on power-ups.

Eat_Pie

maceng

@Eat_Pie: Everyone used powerups. Disruption Delay and Moves +5 is the most common setup. With your team, I advice using Mega Start also.
