The one thing alot of guys who I've talked to get mixed up on is understanding when to achieve the wobble or what the cooldown is. Even when I was walking PokemonHDTrip through the process in his livestream, he often confused the cooldown for the wobble. Another mistake he did was attacking the pokemon too early, leaving very little HP leftover, for him to consecutively hit the pokemon during the cooldown phaze for a wobble.. then it dies during the cooldown.

Another issue, which I've actually experienced about 2/3rds the time I successfully do get a wobble.. is the HP doesn't go down fast enough, or in other words, it snaps out of the wobble before I kill it and I fail the capture as it's already dead in two hits during the next cooldown. So some prior damage is needed.. but not so much that you kill it before the cooldown ends or wobble ends.

Yeah, it's definitely a balancing act trying to take advantage of the wobble. Attack too early and the boss stops wobbling before you defeat it, attack too late and you won't have time to get a wobble in the first place. I've been having a lot of trouble judging when to try for a wobble too, especially considering that it varies depending on the matchup.

Little did you know, I would've given you 1000 diamonds for rescuing me that time.

But I had to use them to bribe the bunearies.

Darn bunearies

I don't even bother. The only reward you get for protecting them through the level is 50 P, which isn't worth the effort. I usually just let the boss kill them and focusing on defeating it.

Bunearies are scary.

Except that when you save them they occasionally reward you with Diamonds, so it's worth at least freeing them.

Okay... Does anybody know how to get Chesnaught wobbling?
Before his cooldown he uses 'Spiky Shield' unable to hit him for quite some time.
He's the last Pokemon on that Balloon. I need him!!!

Both mienshao and chesnaught use a protective move prior to cooldown, they're impossible to wobble. I don't recall any others using protective moves however.

You're only options for catch them is the use the miis to rematch and find them sparkling, or hope they actually drop a toy randomly.

I feared that.. Oh well. I have to be patient then.

btw.. Why didn't anyone mentioned that you get the Attack Learner house thingy?! Just got it.
I wondered myself what I can do with my coins, because you obviously can't get rid of them in the shop.

What are the odds of getting fever 6 times in a row? I just did. I also missed Ho-oh, Suicune and Entei stages because I'm terrible at stopping the roulette at the right time... Also, finally caught every Pokemon from the grass balloon now that I was finally able yo get Florges. Had it wobbling, couldn't kill it fast enough but still got it even though it wasn't wobbling anymore.

Do they still show up in your plaza later with the offer to visit a level for 1 diamond? If there is no punishment for letting them die, this game is very very forgiving for a free to play title. There seems to be no punishment at all for losing and not continuing since you get to keep the Pokemon you've caught until then.

Speaking of poke diamonds, does anyone actually call them diamonds? Crash Bandicoot has conditioned me to refer to that shape as a gem.

Aegislash doesn't seem to ever cooldown. I'm not sure if it's possible to wobble him, his attack pattern is Sword's dance->Attack->Attack->Sword's dance with no protection, rages, or cooldowns inbetween. Only an occasional retaliation.

Also, doublades don't respawn after about 3 waves... don't know if that was intentional or not.

Somebody just informed me that haze will remove detect, protect, and spiky shield.. don't know if this is true. If it is, mienshao and chesnaught can be wobbled (however I'm still skepical, considering the time window to pull off the haze on the cooldown and then pound it is very cramped).

@MegaBeedrill: ironically enough, I just rescued your mii from a gang of angry beedrills.

The nice part is that you gave me 2 diamonds and I caught one of the beedrills.

Took me ages to capture a beedrill at first - must have gone through that stage a dozen times with various Pokemon before finally bagging the bugger!

@Morpheel
Those must've been vespiquen's guards after I stole her honey, which I traded for diamonds...

Now I can go back to saving you from spindas and pachirisus...

I got Groudon on the first try today! Yay!
I've still gone without spending any money on this game but to get much farther it doesn't seem like that's going to be an option. Even though its a free game I don't streetpass enough people with it, and that's the only refurnish-able source of diamonds.

@zitpig yeah I've only run into one so far.

You don't really need diamonds.

Wait what this is not the Pokemon shuffle thread?!

Anyway, you can probably still get the discounted diamonds if you want to try buying a few.
