Topic: Nintendo Badge Arcade

Oh I thought the Pokemon badges was for the entire week and that we'd be seeing new badges every day for the week. Darnit. If that's the case then I'm probably going to stop paying unless they come out with Bowser, Koopa kid, Totakeke or more AC wolves. I wanted some more of my fave Pokemon but they didn't appear in badge form yet, so I was hoping they'd appear in the next few days.

I wonder what the max limit is 'cause I already have a ton in my home screen and folders.

There is a limit to the number of badges you can have? That's incredibly stupid.

It's probably the same limit that already existed for game/app icons.

I didn't get enough practice badges to get a free play yet again, but I got a bonus for the second day in a row. I used to not get any bonuses for a while, so I'm wondering if anyone else is getting more bonuses frequently now? I'm not complaining of course, just curious if it is more likely to get bonuses if you don't have enough practice badges to get free play. Jingle and Pichu gave me the bonuses if anyone's curious.

Got one free play today, and nabbed two lion Pokémon.

The one I went for was the lion with a full on mane, and in the shuffle of things, a lion cub also fell off (probably an earlier form of the other one I got).

So I got 2 free plays from the practice grabber, my battery light is flashing red like crazy! BOOM batteries died.... put my 3DS on charge for a bit, go back to use my free plays and they're gone! What up NIntendo?

In fairness it's probably to stop people just turning off their 3DS when they don't win anything and getting another free go and at the end of the day you knew the battery was dying before hand as it was flashing at you.

Not to mention the game told you that you'll lose all your plays if you turn off the system mid-play. Even payed ones. You should know this, unless you were mashing A through all of the bunny's text.

Sorry, but you have no one to blame but yourself. Just count yourself lucky that you didn't pay for those.

Haha, fair enough. Yeah, there was every chance I pressed a lot of A during the bunny's intro!
And thanks for clearing it up for me, though blame? I wouldn't say I feel particularly responsible, or that anybody did anything wrong! I was simply making a statement.
Also, I don't count myself lucky that I didn't pay for plays! I made a concious choice to not pay for pay to play services, luck had nothing to do with it.

You have to use all your plays in one session or they will be lost, yes. It's probably to prevent exploits involving turning the system off at certain times to duplicate plays or what have you. They stand to lose a lot of money if such an exploit is discovered and I can't blame them for covering all their bases.

@arronishere: Anything that takes me away from my 60+ hour a week job for an hour or 2 is chill time to me 😊

Yay! Some of the Splatoon and MK8 badges are back! This is great news, because now we know that all badges will eventually cycle through again. I'm happy with that! More chances are always nice.

Anyone got any tips on how to get the cow? I wasted 2 tries on it and the catcher can't 'catch' it So I used my last play to try to get one of the fish in Bather's museum but missed and ended up with bones I don't really want anything else in these returning catchers, and that's good 'cause I spent too much getting badges already.

I can understand losing free plays, but I think it's kind of ridiculous they don't let you save your paid plays. What if you manage to earn all the available badges: they seriously expect you to throw away the rest of your paid plays to get duplicates just so they can gouge you for more money for new badges tomorrow?

Uh...yes.

The entire app is a money gouge.

As someone said earlier... In a real arcade, if you throw money into the machine and go away, you wouldn't expect your paid tries to be there tomorrow.

Not entirely thanks to the practice catcher and free plays: already got more badges than I know what to do with. But yeah, abandon all hope if you make the mistake of opening your wallet.

I also wanted the cow (it'll go great with the HM Cow theme). I aimed for the horns-ears, and then the cow swept all the other badges with it, it was quite satisfying.... Although I only wanted the cow badge itself.

I tried to repeat it with my 2ds... But failed miserably.

I got one free try today, but failed to get anything.

It was one of the Mario & Friends machines (the badges with the character artwork in circles), and I went for Bowser, but it didn't even grip anything.
