Topic: Nintendo Badge Arcade

Am I the only one who finds the practice machines a lot easier than the real ones? I'll do a practice machine without knowing what I am supposed to do and get every badge. Then if I manage to get a free play, I'll go to the real one, do the same thing I just learned to do in practice, and completely whiff and end up with nothing. Are they making the real ones harder or am I the only one experiencing the phenomenon?

Thing has been pretty stingy lately for mii, also was just playing practice badges, get's all of the badges twice! does it on the real thing...don't get any =w= at least it's not bad because there really isn't anything I want lately, they don't even have a new theme out!

Do you think Nintendo might implement a trade-in for the badges, like trade in a badge and get one free play?

I doubt it.

I'd love to be able to give people duplicate badges if I happen to get any (and I already have several).

Also, EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! I thought I wouldn't have to buy anymore plays (for the time being), but they HAD to come out with FOOD BADGES. I NEED THOOOOOOOOOOOOOSE! All I managed to get today was a plate of fries. Oh why didn't I get more free plays? I only got 1! I must...have...others......urge to buy....rising.....must....resist.......!!!

@Freelance: I know that feeling of MUST NEED! That's how I felt with the Splatoon badges! lol I hope your luck turns around and you get the badges you want.

I had great luck today! I got enough badges in the practice catcher to get a free play, and one of the badges came with a super bonus, giving me 4 free plays total! I was finally able to complete the badge set with Annie and Moe. Super Happy! Now I hope the MK8 badges stay for a while, so I can focus on those. Luigi, here I come!

@Blue_Blur: Who the heck is Annie and Moe? Man, you go so many free plays today. LUCKY!!!! I'm gonna wait for the sales to start first before buying anymore plays. Want to see if there's anything I want first.

@Freelance: Annie & Moe are shopkeepers in Splatoon. Sorry, I should've specified who they were. Here is a pic of them:

And what sales are you talking about? Like theme sales? Or do certain badges go on sale sometimes?

@Blue_Blur: Oh, I've never played Splatoon. Don't have a Wii U. I mean Black Friday sales. It starts today in 10 mins.

Ha. SO much more interesting that what I've got at the moment. Splatoon Badges, AC Happy Home Designer, and two re-runs of Mario Bros. Hopefully Eu gets some nice Zelda badges tomorrow. I need some stuff to go with my Zelda themes.

@Freelance Congrats. Getting a complete set is so satisfying. On one of the Splatoon sets (I think it was the Blue/Pink Splodges one) I managed to net myself all the types of badges in the machine in two goes by complete accident. I was only after the splodges and squids, so getting the inklings too was just a nice bonus.

Meh I only wanted Gatcha Racing out of the sales. I was gonna get Pokemon Puzzle Challenge too but decided not to at this time since it's not on sale so I can get it any time. I'm going to try to get the rest of the fruits instead with my remaining money.

OMG I'm so happy. I spent a ton and managed to get all the food badges!! It took a lot of plays just to get that hamburger!! I gave up on the cow after trying again. It seems impossible for me to pick up, but I did manage to get the Daisy Kart using the crane trick. I also got Bowser too, along with Bowser Jr, and the Magikoopa (whatever it's called) on the side. Man, I really hope there's no new food badges tomorrow....

@TheXReturns: Thanks man!! I managed to get the Zelda system icon set in one go too so I was happy about that. Just a few days ago I was hoping for Tomodachi Life badges 'cause I knew it'd have food badges (sadly the game was stolen from me, along with the 3DS ) so I wanted a bunch to decorate my home theme with pics of delicious food! I never thought they'd be coming so soon though!! Man I'm gonna be broke getting these. I'm now thinking of using them as my folders

It would have to be more than 1 for 1, if they did it would have to be like 5 badges for 1 free play.

I echo the sentiment that the real machines seem to be tougher than their practice variants.

Practice Machine:
Try 1 - Knock down three badges.
Try 2 - Knock down the other two badges, it resets.
Try 3 - Knock down same three badges.
Try 4 - Knock down same two badges, resets.
Try 5 - Knock down same three badges.

Managed to get 4 free plays (a "Super Bonus" + an extra for getting 10 practice badges), and I go to the practice machine's real counterpart (the one with the food).

Based on my performance with the practice machine, I should have been able to get every badge in that machine twice over with my 4 plays, but I just barely managed to get 3 badges (a soda & two plates of fries).

I believe they feel easier because you get five tries and there's no pressure, so you're more relaxed.

I have this on two 3DS systems, and I almost always do better on the practice machine on the 1st 3DS than I do on the practice machine on the 2nd 3DS rather than actually learning anything to do better on the 2nd one, so I don't think it's a matter of practice vs real, but just for some reason you aren't as focused the 2nd time. You're probably better off to switch machines once you get your free plays rather than assume the practice will give you an advantage on the real machine.

I managed to get 2 AC app badges to fall today using the crane method, but I had no plays so I couldn't collect them. I only had one free play today and tried to get Tom Nook's EShop app, but instead I managed to tilt the platform it was on, causing the badge on the far right to lean over the edge. It fell after a bit of switching but the sudden loss of weight cause the platform to tilt to the left, so now Digby was right on the edge. It took a tad more work, but it also managed to fall after a while. Totakeke and Nook were right in the middle so I didn't think they'd move.

I'm both happy and sad there's no new food badges.

Question, which app does Digby start? I don't recognize the symbol.
