@Blue_Blur: Congrats! Maybe you're not switching fast enough for them to shift.
I finally got the bird to drop down! I didn't have a free play, since I got Lyle today, but I didn't really want the bird anyway; I just wanted to see if I could pull of the "quick switch" trick. Thanks for telling about this trick again! I'm sure it'll come in handy for more badges later on!
Tried getting the big dinosaur but failed. I did, however, end up knocking the little dinosaur and those 3 nut things (whatever they are) over. Sorry, I don't play the new games so I dunno what their names are. Tomorrow is the last day so I may pay to get that big dino and the two AC wolves. I didn't pay today in case a new machine comes tomorrow with badges I want too.
@Yeahman Judging from what other people said, you'd need several free plays to get Groudon. It'd be easier if you cough up some dough. Here's something that may interest you though. If you pay, and end up getting nothing at all, the bunny takes pity on you and gives you a badge from the machine. It's random, but it's another way to get Groudon although it's risky.
I got my first super bonus badge for the first time since my first day with the game, when I got one then. About time.

I also got a super bonus. Did you get it from the reindeer badge, by any chance?
Anyway. Thanks to that super bonus, I finally caught the meowth badge (took me all three tries!). And as a little bonus it knocked skitty down with it.
Actually, I do think the Jingle badge gave it to me. Huh. Are these bonuses (at least the super bonuses) preprogrammed?

Oh well, the deal with real crane games is that they're programmed to hold-on to prizes every X tries. Any try in between is almost guaranteed to fail.
Edit: I tried the practice catcher in my 2ds, jingle did not give me a bonus... However, the main difference is that in this one I also collected enough badges to win one free try. So maybe it is a combination of pre-programmed likelihood and luck... Or your chances of getting a surprise bonus are much lower when you're guaranteed a try.
I have noticed that when I don't get any bonuses from the badges and I don't have enough practice badges to earn a free play, the last badge flips over again to reveal a blue bonus badge. It doesn't happen every single time, though. With the week and a half I've had with this game, I've only had one day where I didn't earn any free plays.

@Morpheel, yeah, I've read that before, too. Those things are pretty scammy — just a stacked game of chance in reality. I have noticed that the Badge Arcade crane will drop a badge every once in a while, for a touch of "realism" I suppose.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I played this earlier.
Only had one free try, but managed to nab 2 cat Pokémon (the two in front of Meowth & Persian).
BTW, how does the "shaking" trick work? Do you just hold the direction button down and let go once it hits full speed, or do you rapidly go back & forth? (so far I've tried both, and nothing has even budged. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Here's my newly designed home screen. I have more badges in the folders.
Jingles is giving a wolf a present. Another wolf is watching TV. A bear whatever-it-is is enjoying the outdoors with 3 snowmen. It's also snowing. A Raichu and a Barboach are playing outside too. I may add Lyle somewhere but I already turned off my 3DS. I decided to make a winter theme for my home screen this year.
If you have noticed from my screenshot, I got the big dinosaur today, along with a bunch of Christmas stuff to decorate my home screen. I didn't care about any of the Pokemon released today. I am waiting for Furret, Totodile and Spheal. I want a bunch of Spheals lined up in a row.
You rapidly go back and forth. Not every machine will work. It depends on the position of the badges and the shape of the machine. I was able to get 6 badges to fall. If you get a badge and it knocks the others so that one of them is leaning precariously over the edge, that is a good opportunity to try it out. I got Hariyama this way.
Not sure what you mean, but new Pokemon are being added every day, so I guess it's that. There are also AC Christmas/Holiday themed items too that's being added.
I think I am done... Appearently there is a max to how many badges you can have, even when putting them in Folders. So I can't decorate my 3DS anymore than it already is.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
