Topic: New Super Mario Bros. for the 3DS?

I love the original New Super Mario Bros. for the DS. New Super Mario Bros Wii was okay but i always felt that the series was most suited in the handheld's. So i think they should drop the development for New super Mario Bros Mii and make the third one on the 3DS. Their has been rumors that they would make a level creator like Little Big Planet which would be awesome! They should probably call it New Super Mario Bros. World with Nintendo Wi-Fi so that you can play multiplayer and share levels online. Also I think their should be a change of characters. Instead of the two Toad's, how about one Toad and Wario (Or play as a Mii)? They should also have levels were Mario, Luigi, Toad and Wario gets traped in bobbles by Kamek and then the players takes control of Yoshi's who has to save them and bring them to the finish before the time limit runs out. You can even have a multiplayer mode based on that. And there should also be alot of Mini games to that you can play. They should also use StreetPass so that player's can look at who one player went through a level and you can play their levels they created or levels they played. That's the idea's that I came up with regarding New Super Mario Bros for the 3DS. Do you have any idea's? I would love to know!

I would rather them not make another New Super Mario Bros. game. Two is enough.

As long as there are no Miis and they're more creative with the themes of each world (e.g. not having the exact themes for each world as its predecessor but in a different order like NSMBW) then I'd definitely want one on 3DS. Wario and Waluigi would be good characters for the third and fourth characters.

I would love more 2D "New" Mario Games for both 3DS and Wii U, not only that but I think that there should be a rotation back and forth of "New" one year and a Galaxy/64 type game the next. Same thing with Zelda and Metroid. I love Skyward Sword and I even love The Other M minus the cutscenes and point and find stuff. I would love to see more 2D Zelda and Metroid games also though. One thing that is great about the Wii version of New Mario is the ability to play 4 player so I wouldn't get rid of console versions. It would be interesting if they made a 2D Metroid game that allows 4 Samuses to splist off and explore different parts of a huge planet at the same time. As for Mario it would be good to switch out one of the toads for someone like Wario or Peach or something. It would be inertesting to have a Mario game where he fights all of his big bads in the same game, Bowser, Wart, Donkey Kong and Wario. I know that the last two have been made into anti-heros, but something like that might be interesting, kind of a mash-up of all of the games that Mario has been in?

I had no problem with three Mario platformers for the Wii and hope it continues next generation. One 2D and one or two 3Ds is fine by me, as long as they keep it fresh.

I don't know, but I would think that Nintendo would plan (in an ideal world) to have one Super Mario game on each console. Like the DS had New Super Mario Bros. which was amazing and sold well throughout the console's life (and the console sold well throughout its life), so there was no need for another. I think the Wii having 3 Super Mario games (the first time since the NES/GB era that there's been more than one) was perhaps more to do with the Wii's game drought and lack of releases than because they planned to make 3 Super Marios for the console. I suppose also the fact that 2D and 3D Mario now have equal billing for the first time, so things have changed slightly in that regard.

Super Mario is my favorite franchise, but I don't want them to churn out too many in quick succession and lead to overkill (Sonic...) Having to wait for a new game is a good thing, it makes it all the more special when it arrives. I don't have 3D Land yet because I've played a Mario every year for the past four, I've only just played the last one and I haven't built up a hunger for a new one yet.

@waveboy yes, a Doki Doki Panic 2 for 3DSware would be great, lots of things they could add!

I would like to see this happen. As long as it is something new and fresh. Nintendo need to step out of the box with the next one.

I'd like to see it and I hope it incorporates elements from Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA) such as plucking and throwing veggies!

Edit: Just noticed WaveBoy's post. I'd still like it to remain in the same style as previous NSMB titles, but with added elements from SMB2.

Super Mario 3D Land.

I would like a "new" Super Mario Bros. game for the 3DS, yes.

We need more 2D Mario games in the world.

The New Super Mario Bros. games are fun, but I never really find them too exciting.
I'm sure they'll probably make one because the previous two have been such big sellers, but in my opinion, 3D is where Mario's best these days.
I'd take another Super Mario 3D Land over another New Super Mario Bros. any day.

I know it isn't Mario, but Rayman Orgins will be coming out for the 3DS in just a few months, so there's that.

If the new Super Mario Bros.3DS game plays like Super Mario 3D Land combing a 3D world with 2D sidescroller game play then I'll be all behind it.
