On My Nintendo you can see that DK Returns 3D, Super Mario Maker for 3DS and Animal Crossing New Leaf: Welcome Amiibo got added to the Nintendo Select range of games. In addition these 3 have a 10% (wow..) discount reward you can get for 20 Gold Points.

Would be interesting to see if the states got any games added too.

I believe NA is only missing Mario Maker, the other two is already in the Nintendo Select range of games (i can confirm since i own both them).

I wasn't going to get Mario maker 3DS but if I ever see it for 20$ then I'll definitely buy.

Currently playing: Sm4sh, (always) Terraria, Mario & lulgi: deam team.
Want list: WarioWare gold,

I was pleased to see Mario Maker appear so quickly.

Before Mario Kart 7 and NSMB2. Bit weird.

@Dezzy : Selects titles typically tend to be those that have lost a bit of momentum sales-wise, but would still generate longterm sales with a decreased price tag, hence why evergreen behemoths like NSMB2, Mario Kart 7, Super Smash Bros. and especially the Pokémon games are never relegated to the Selects range (as they are still selling exceptionally well at full price).

"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"

What about Mario 3D Land though?

3D Land already has. I was saying that seems not to fit the pattern as I assumed it was still selling as well as NSMB2 would be.

@Dezzy : The 2D platformers seem to perform better than the 3D ones, strangely enough. NSMB2's figures are over 12 million and that was released a year after 3D Land. 3D Land is trailing behind at just under 12 million, and that has had a one year kickstart, a price drop, and was issued as a free download at various points over the years, at least in Europe and Australia (I own both the physical and digital versions as a result).

Nintendo are better aware of the shelf life of their products, so I very much doubt that 3D Land would have been added to the Selects range if its sales (at least at full price) had not already stagnated. Meanwhile, Nintendo are still advertising Mario Kart 7, even though a vastly superior sequel (and a portable port of said sequel) are available. Mario Kart 8 and 8 Deluxe cost me nearly as much as what I had paid for 7 at release, and I know what I would rather put my money towards, but if people are still buying, surely enough, Nintendo will keep it on shelves.
