I'm still on the fence about getting one. I don't have a 3ds yet, but there's so much greatness to play. However, I've got loads to play on my wii u as well... and I love monster hunter... oh boy!
do you guys expect nintendo to quit publishing games for 3DS and to more or less oblige gamers to buy N3DS (in the long run)?
What and alienate 50 million owners......NO! If we see 5 exclusives over the course of the next 2 year's I'll be surprised. If anything they will at least utilize the features on the New 3ds but it will still be playable on the older models.

what he said. In theory I bet it could scale down and things just won't look or run as nicely.

Considering that Fire Emblem If was shown playing on a regular XL, I doubt they're abandoning the 50 million plus user base.
Also, kind of having second thoughts on getting on, at least day one. There's a bunch Wii u and ps4 games I want. Plus there's bills and wanting to get a bigger TV and a car.

Beware the car thing. They are financial black holes. That's any car really. get the bills and TV done first..things always look better on a bigger TV. Man, gotta love life and priorities...

Plus...I like my red SSB limited edition XL. Plus I wouldn't be surprised if the true 3DS successor ends up coming out in 2016. I think for gakinf this year I'll focus on software purchases.
As of right now, I have no intention to get a New Nintendo 3DS. It is strange that the XL size is the only model coming to North America. I also really question the ethics of not including a charger. I really don't see many New Nintendo 3DS exclusives anyway, seeing as only one is confirmed and it is a remake.
I honestly wonder why Nintendo pulled this move. Is a successor to the Nintendo 3DS not coming out until 2019 or 2020 and they just want to lengthen the 3DS's lifespan as long as possible? That would seem strange because the Wii U will probably get a successor in 2017 or 2018.

I liken this more to the dsi, it had about 2 year life before the 3ds came out. If Nintendo gets another 2 years out of it I think they will take it and run. Whatever they are going to do next might be released in 2017 as both handheld and console. I really think they will find a way to combine the 2.

That too. I still think there is a real possibility that the true successor could launch in late 2016/early 2017.

Perfect timing if you ask me. The DSi came out two years before the 3DS. A 2017 release for the successor of the 3DS seems pretty plausible, and may well bring it straight in line with the Wii U's successor.
EDIT: Just realised that Spoony_Tech said pretty much the exact same thing...

That is what I am expecting
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
"I really feel like I'm satisfied with the 3DS hardware as it is. I feel like it's the best for this generation."
I agree with Shigeru Miyamoto from 2012. The New 3DS XL isn't quite worth it.
First of all, I need to address that these complaints revolve around the fact that the New 3DS XL is $230 in Canada ($260 when you add sales taxes in Ontario).
I dislike the micro SD card feature, because I don't have one sufficient enough to add everything to my New 3DS XL. 4 GB won't cut it. 16 GB won't cut it. I need to get a $30 32 GB Micro SD Card, which goes for $30 at Walmart.
And, if you're not like me, who already had a 3DS/DSi, prepare to make a necessary payment on that AC Adapter. That goes for $20 @ Best Buy.
The amiibo feature will come soon on regular 3DSes, which eliminates one of Nintendo's biggest features in thos New system. Granted, it's with an accessory, but it's fairly small, so it isn't a hassle.
Was the 3D that hard to keep focus on that you need a camera for it anyways?
Plus, it only has one "exclusive". That word being in quotations, because its also on Wii.
Ok, so you have better processing power.
There are just so many problems with the New 3DS XL, that there isn't much excuse to buy it. The regular 3DS goes on sale somewhat often. As a matter of fact, it was recently for $99 at Best Buy, for the Limited Edition Yoshi Model. This will only last 2 years, until Nintendo decides to move on. So you're just better off going with an older model, waiting for a good price drop or wait until Nintendo reveals some the successor to the New 3DS XL.
Just a heads up, Amazon France, Spain, and Italy are already taking pre-orders on the 4 variants of 3DSes. The MH4U and MM limited editions are PROBABLY sold out (since they're not available but on the top1&2 best sellers).
