At least you weren't as badly ripped off as us 'Ambassadors'.

I will update this when Half Life 3 arrives. [Started 17/11/2015]

Yoshi

I haven't had a single issue with my New 3DS. Everything works perfectly and the transfer went smoothly.

I'm intrigued..... Please, elaborate.

Sorry that happened to you but like @TeeJay said it's not the fault of the new system. Blame Nintendo's transfer process.

As a 3DS 'Ambassador' myself, I definitely remember feeling that pain a few years back.

Also, here. Elaboration.

As far as amiibo's, don't you think it's just a little too late to be adding such a thing in the 3DS's life span? it's already been out for 4 years, I'm sure will already be seeing the 3DS's successor in little over a year...I guess it's nice that it's there but I highly doubt a lot of games will support that feature.

Amiibos are new though, so they're adding them once they've been developed. They should miss out on years of implementation (yes, even if a new console comes out, the 3DS will be supported for a while afterward) just because the 3DS has been out for nearly 4 years?

Plus, there is no evidence, and little likelihood, that there will be a new console in "a little over a year". An announcement? Sure, but not a release.

If this was really NEW, they should have upgraded the cameras to at least 8 megapixels (which they are currently and have always been 1.5 megapixels) and installed HD resolution screens/graphics.

Every 5 years man, every 5 years we see a new console/handheld from the big N.
In 2016 we'll get the successor.

Yeah, I'm guessing Nintendo wants at least 2 years put of this New 3ds. If it is 2016 it won't be till the very end of the year and that will be 6 years for Japan.

Exactly.

The'll announce a new console in a year or so, but full release? Nah.

New 3DS XL is terrible.

I agree.
Nah, it's better than the regular XL. better contrast & brightness, faster download time, games boot up faster, the position of the start & select buttons are a lot better ect.

But yup, hows the super stable 3D working for you?.....It aint' working for me.

That really bites, man!

The super stable 3d is about the only thing that works properly for me.

The digital games you download on your system are connected to your account, not the system right?
How does this apply to "limited editions", where there's a game pre-installed on the system? You didn't create an account yet, so I take it's bound to your sytem for eternity?

Actually both. You have an account, but it is linked to the system. What most people get wrong is that there's no account when in fact there is, but currently only system transfer and Nintendo themselves can transfer the content to another system.

When you transfer an account through system transfer, the pre-installed game becomes part of the transferred account but you have to redownload it from the eshop since the new system was formatted in the process.

Thanks for the reply! and you too Grumble. Because if I were to buy a new 3ds, I would want to transfer all my games to the new system including link between worlds from the special edition. So I'm glad that's a possibility.

OK. I'm on my friend's laptop. I transferred everything from my old source card (original 3ds) and moved it to his hard drive.

The "DCIM" folder are pictures/images stored on my 3ds.
The "Nintendo 3DS" folder contains three other folders...."4f297da66e1c342b3190e6912dc53c7f", "ea39d93c941960ff4e39672a2e328b54", and "Private".

I have no clue what to do here. Can I just copy and paste all contents from old to new SD card? My 32 GB microSDHC card has been in new 3ds xl for two days so it's gotten some use.

Is this going to mess up things u think!????

Using the New 3DS before transfer complicates things especially if you're using a Nintendo Network ID already on your new system. It would help to know what you have used your New 3DS XL for before giving advice.

Also, did you check to make sure your cartridge games save to the cartridge? A lot of games now save to the memory card to cut down on costs.

I'm thinking here. It's been in my new 3ds xl since saturday and i don't guess i've saved anything to it??? I don't know. I feel as if i should just bite the bullet here and leave things as is now.

Ryu_Niiyama

I must say I'm loving the n3ds. Not enough to buy a non limited one for my region but after squinting at a regular 3ds to play Taiko I'm very grateful for the upgrade. Just did the transfer this morning. Had to wait on the microsd card.

What I would do is make a separate back up for the new 3DS's micro SD (if you have a reader or an adapter). Do this back up first before doing the following step in case something goes wrong.

Then completely erase it clean and then move the folders from the hard drive to the new microSD as they were on the old SD. Do NOT merge the two SD cards together
