No, it's the last mission you get from the nanny... Er- village boss.

Yes I heard it's back, I may try this time around... If I ever reach that point.

@Tsurii Now try doing it as a Palico — without flash bombs, traps, barrel bombs, or farcasters so you can heal yourself... (cries)

Oh, also, even though you have HG Earplugs, let's make it that when you're underground, and a Rath roars (and they never stop roaring), that it makes you pop up, and leave you dazed so that they can immediately kill you.
-_-

And what's that? Three acorns you say? That might be well and good, IF they didn't just wait for you to eat it, then kill you again... and again... xD

Oh yeah, I knew there was something else Palicos couldn't use.

@FattyWhale_42 Have you considered using Last Stand? You give up the acorns for a massive stat boost, which may be worth it if the acorns aren't doing much good.

@meleebrawler I have Earplugs as the added skill to my best cat, and I don't really want to give that up for that quest. xD

Good thought though.

I'll probably just do it as a hunter.

This is my modus operandi for these types of quests:

Plan A: Fight one monster and keep the other at bay with smoke bombs. Bring materials for more if a particularly long hunt. If the smokescreen is breached, either through failed maintenance or accidentally hitting the other monster...

Plan B: Only for the Arena, raise the wall.

Plan C: If one monster is sufficiently weakened, kite them and let the other one finish it off.

Plan D: If all else fails, farcaster back to base and wait for both to calm down before resuming the fight from Plan A.

I can vouch for the smoke bomb method.

Back in 3 Ultimate we used to always use smoke bombs on Gold Ian and Silver Los, when you'd fight them at Tower 3. It works like magic. And bring farcasters (well, a farcaster and a bunch of bomb casings and excite shrooms to craft more)

I was having the hardest time dodging attacks and I noticed I hadn't a hunter art equipped...

Last time I played, I switched to Guild style to use the lance... And forgot about it...

I spent like six missions thinking I had Adept, dodging right in front of attacks like a fool D:

@Meowpheel

Lol I do that anyways... Old habits die hard. I've spent my entire career as a monster hunter using the evasion subset of skills. I'm so used to having 0.4 - 0.6 seconds of i-frames that I roll through dragon breath, dodge roll right into fireballs, etc lol.

I'm so glad this game gives us hunter styles, specifically adept, because now I can branch out a little more into skills that I could never afford because I had so many slots and skills tied up into Evasion +3 and Evade Distance.

Before, earplugs and Sharpness+1 I'd try and squeeze into a set, and usually I did manage to get at least one of those, in rare occasions both alongside evasion (though I'd usually have to cut back to Eva+2), but now, I'm rolling with earplugs, sheathing, fencing, speed sharpening, etc. It's like a whole new world has opened up to me.

The last time I saw this much diversity of my skills was when I was first learning the game and working my way up through low and high rank of 3U. But the moment I made that mixed Helios set with an Eva+6 Eva Dist+4 OOO charm, it was a wrap. And for 1000 hours of play since I've used nothing but evasion.

Looks like they mean it when they say "unassailable".

Hyper monsters are really an elegant way of making existing monsters tougher (even if they do seem have "G-Rank" stats on top) without just shooting their attack through the roof or shoehorning a time-based item to do any real damage like Apex did.

The Garuga sets are where it's at until mid-late high rank.

LoRank Fencing and earplugs, gem in speed sharpening
HiRank Fencing and HG earplugs, gem in sheathing

And I think the Akantor armor sets are where it's at for end game. Either the regular or hyper set- preferably the hyper set because it comes with slots (4 less hearing points but, those can be gemmed in with slots to spare).

I'm not doing the Deviant armor I don't think. None of them are particularly noteworthy due to the lack of any slots. I like the Glavenus set but, grinder skill just isn't all that great, even with the speed sharpening from hell blade, and Sharpness+2 is great but, you can get natural white without it for certain weapons, which negates the need entirely.

I'd rather go with Akantor R, get fencing, HG earplugs, blunt, and another skill gemmed in with talisman and free slots. And with a bit of charm farming and luck, it's possible to squeeze in sheathing and speed sharpening. That's my end game armor set goal. Right there.

@Tsurii
I've always gone mixed sets- in MH4U it was Mizua/Kushala, among others for more specific purposes like my evade lancing set or HBG set.

But for this game, I'm thinking a full set will suffice. Especially given the right charm.

I like the Deviant sets- that Rathalos one is indeed nice, but they're just such a pain to make. I don't think I have it in me. Not even for the weapons. Regions weapons top off nicely with white sharpness and slots in some cases. But then again, we'll see. I may end up with a bunch of tickets by the end of the game just by virtue of playing so if I do I might go ahead make something. We'll see.

I've been lagging behind though because I had a foot infection, then got sick for another 2 weeks, and just really started playing about a week or two ago.

If anyone is in HR3 and wants to plow through to Hi Rank I'm game

I'm not HR3, but I'll offer my assistance if you'd like it. ^_^

I've got a bunch of different cats that need leveled up. So I can just act as an assisting cat--laying mines or traps--if you'd like. xD
