Topic: Monster Hunter Generations (Our Toothy Lord and Savior)

I just went through a series of peculiar events this evening...

First up was Najarala. A Deviljho showed up... but because this was a large gold crown Najarala, he ended up looking kind of puny next to it.

Then, on the very first high rank Rathalos's very first shiny drop of my gunner file, I get a ruby. And a Rajang shows up, the first time I've ever seen one appear randomly in Generations.

Lastly, I saw a commercial for 1-2-Switch just before the Oscars.

Funny observation: the three main Leviathans (Lagiacrus, Mizutsune and Agnaktor) have a coincidental rock-paper-scissors dynamic with their elements (Lagi is weak to fire, Mizu is weak to thunder and Agna is weak to water).

What are some of the events like for the end-game monsters? Giving the game another chance and bought it again (this time digital because of the sale, lol), though of course I have to start over again, it shouldn't take me that long to get back to high rank Nakarkos. (which is where I stopped playing before)

Anyways are they just the same monster with more HP? Or is there a catch to the quest? Like, perma rage or something...

Yeah, I can "clob" in about 20-30 min.

@Joeynator3000 Some Hyper variants of monsters, such as Rajang, Deviljho, and Gold and Silver Rath, only appear in event quests. I can't remember the event quests having unusual catches except for more HP.

@Joeynator3000 The post-HR break Hypers tend to have greatly buffed attack and HP on top of their hyper status (I got one-shot by Hyper Jho's dragon breath with 640 defense; Kiranico says it's got a 3X attack modifier on all of its moves).

Was hoping for some unique catches, like perma rage monsters....or Nakarkos always in 2nd form and stuck in dragon mode, or something...xD

hello guys i just got Generations cause of the sale and reached finally high rank.
Im 4star village and 6star online. I really dont get the quest progression system Oo.I played MH3U and MH4U and feel they were less grindy and more variable?

Anyway someone up for special+permit monster farming? Just started those and am at HuntII or HuntIII stages.
Anyone wanna add friend codes?

Also is it possible to cut hellblade tails? I only broke them so far. Tried SW, GS, CB and lance. No luck though lol.

PS: i soloed mostly for training lol.the new hunt styles are awesome

Well, it's been a couple of weeks since I started over and gave this game another chance, only one thing to say. I should've looked into Prowler Mode more...Always thought this mode was just for laughs and gathering quests...thinking they're useless against normal hunts. lol

@Tsurii To be honest, I've barely used the HBG in this game; and in 4U, most of my HBG's had the limiter removed.

You can enter siege after a roll (Evade Extender is a must for all styles except maybe Adept) in all styles except Striker, plus Aerial and Adept also let you roll right out of it, in addition to their special methods of entering it. Other than that, the only way to use siege more than the few times a monster is incapacitated is to have good distractions. One way to remedy this is to take a bowgun with level 2 para shots along with Guns Blazing.

...Well my wrist doesn't hurt when playing video games anymore (still hurts sometimes, though, lol), so, back to finishing low rank in this game. xD

@Tsurii Well, you can basically do that with Adept by holding the direction you want to face after the evade, before the power reload. Likewise with Aerial, after the downward shot with siege ammo. Even so, some monsters really just aren't cut out to use siege on, at least solo. Such as Tigrex.

@Tsurii Can't help but wonder if the habit of making sets with nothing but attack-boosting skills is tying up your performance with heavies.

Here's the thing: all handling stats being equal, HBGs have the exact same frame data for everything except sheathing/unsheathing, yet do far more damage, and tend to have bigger clips too. As such, it needs far less help in that department when it comes to armor skills, as tempting as it may be to go all in with those. The main skills you should consider are Evade Extender for mobility and positioning, Recoil+ to fire high-powered rounds more readily, and Normal/Pierce/Trueshot Up as your damage skill.

Stonefist, Silverwind or their regular counterpart's sets are good places to look for better bowgun handling.

Time to see if I can fight Nakarkos as a kitty. lol
