Topic: Monster Hunter Generations (Our Toothy Lord and Savior)

Randoms are usually alright with me, though I generally only play with them if if grinding a specific monster for parts. Hunting the same monster by myself many times to get rare drops gets boring and repetitive, and takes too long.

After defeating the mighty Alatreon yesterday with my Consummate Blade, he saw fit to reward me with two Azure Dragongems after a grueling 40-minute battle. I honestly forgot those were a thing in 3U (only remembered the G Dragonsphires).

I always found their descriptions to be a bit of irony: that the ''end'' brought about by them is actually the player who stops playing after obtaining basically everything. The same goes for the ''curse'' mentioned in some Fatalis gear.

I managed to beat that village quest against all of the fated 4 in the arena today. That was intense. Since Gammoth is slow and bulky, I just focused on whatever else was there and left Gammoth to last. Those fence switches sure do come in handy.

I kinda figured that was going to be like the "Fated 4" quest, should've known there would be a catch to this one. lol

Aside from a few Elders, Frontier is mostly unoriginal anyways.

Not just from Generations, that Great Sword super is pretty much just a 4U Charge Blade ultra burst (Frontier probably only gets away with it by virtue of there being no Charge Blade in it). And it seems like no matter which series you're in, Hammer modifications come mainly in flashier charge attacks.

Also not a fan of dung-colored Rathian and bat-eared Tigrex.

@meleebrawler Yeah, the 2nd gen models look even worse now than they ever did.

@Joeynator3000 I find the elders are the most unoriginal part, with there being a decent amount of unique normal monsters in there.

I said a few Elders, not all of them. >.<

Now, I have to ask... why exactly do some people clamor for this game to come over to the west again?

Dunno, but a PC MH game would be nice over here...

...And 3U HD was just a port of a 3DS game....which was an expansion of a Wii game. So yeah, we haven't had a console MH game from the ground up FOR THAT CONSOLE....since Tri. lol

@meleebrawler Thirst for a console Monster Hunter + lack of awareness. When I first heard of Frontier it was a whole new unseen side to the series. Only later did I get thrown off by the 2nd gen engine and the grinding horror stories.

@Joeynator3000 There's always that rumor floating around that Sony bought Monster Hunter 5 for PS4 and is intent on Westernizing it (with the deal explicitly letting the "Portable" subseries be on the Switch). The things that give the rumor credence is that (a) it predicted the name "MH XX/Double Cross" and (b) a Japanese business insider said that Capcom wanted Nintendo to give them a lump sum up front for Switch exclusivity (like what happened with the 3DS titles) but Nintendo said nadda. Yeah, it originates from 4chan, but it's got a couple things going for it. ..."Westernizing" a Japanese blockbuster not necessarily among them.

....I dunno, we'll have to wait and see I guess....I just want MH5 on the Switch. :c (or PC if it has to go there)
