Stupid Palicos. They killed the Zinogre just after I fainted, which meant I had a frantic 60 seconds to get carted then return to the monster to get the carves. Thankfully, I just about had enough time for that.

It's been awhile since I last played Generations, I'll probably see if I cank rank myself to HR 7 before I go on vacation next week. I'm probably gonna be very rusty though lol.

I finally got round to trying out a special permit quest and did Deadeye I since I needed Garuga parts. I waited this long to try out a special permit quest because someone told me not to bother with them yet until I'm stronger, but I now think that was really bad advice as I would have enjoyed trying them out sooner even if they would have been too tough.

@crimsontadpoles If it was from around here, the message was probably more along the lines of "don't bother making/upgrading stuff from them until endgame" due to the hunter mark system, rather than not bothering fighting them. That said it's still wise to hold off attempting them until you have some solid high rank gear, since even a level 1 Redhelm Arzuros unlocked at HR 2 will take a very long time to down and hit really hard if you don't.

Some Deviant weapons can be useful even before you can upgrade them, though. Unupgraded Dreadqueen Rapier is good for Neopteron carving.

And about your earlier comment... seems silly to chide Palicoes for slaying a monster right after you cart. It's not like we hunters ever drop everything just because one of our buddies fainted right at the end, outside of small of very understanding teams.

@meleebrawler Yeah, it's possible that's what they said and I just misunderstood it. As for the palicos comment, I meant that more jokingly than anything.

For once, I actually remembered to grind monsters using multiplayer instead of just doing it all by myself. It made it so quick to get the Yian Garuga parts for some good gunner gear. Now I just need to create a new light bowgun since my current one is from early low rank.

I should be available for hunting in about 30-40 min. So just a heads-up to whomever.
