The game is great. And I also found the demo a little boring, but I took the plunge because I never had the chance to play the game. And I felt the same about the RE:R demo. I played each demo twice and then I deleted them.
I don't see why the awesome intro would sell him on this version, it's the same in all the versions of the game
Nope.
it clearly says "MGS 3D Snake Eater" noob. and the credits are a little different.
He was clearly saying to sell you on the game itself, not just the 3D version. Get the PS2 or HD versions--they're better anyway. Either way, play MGS3 somehow :3
I'll just ignore VJ's comment since this game somehow still remains to be his least favorite MGS, who knows why.
I found the characters to be the least entertaining. Specifically cry baby Big Boss. Eva and The Boss were boring. Cliche cliche. Young Ocelot isn't as intelligent or as awesome as old Ocelot. And the bosses pale in comparison to MGS1's bosses. Look at me I'm The Pain. I got bees on me. It's painful.
The camo system is completely overshadowed by MGS4's improvements. In the beginning of the game everything is pure green. On the 3DS I had to stop, look around for five minutes trying to adjust the camera, saw that green was moving, realized it was an enemy, then took aim. The gameplay didn't wow me like 4's does.
Also the music. My god. If I wanted some chick screaming in my ear I'd... well yeah. And the storyline wasn't great. For being the beginning of the storyline I expected more. Shagohod was bland too. I vote for REX. Shagohod is almost as bad as RAY.

[16:44] LztheBlehBird: James doesn't know the rules? For shame!!!
I was going to say tape over her favorite movie again (Titanic), but yeah that too. Women scream when you screw up their Starbucks order? Glad I don't work there.

If anyone is still on the fence about getting this game, just remember how awesome the intro is. [youtube:8OSQf6Pr5g8] Intro gets a 10/10.
I was going to pick it up yesterday but than I noticed that Target had the HD collection for the Xbox 360 for the same price so I went with that instead. I mean not only does it have Sons of Liberty and Peace Walker along with Snake Eater but I also dont have to buy an add on like I would for the 3DS.

All of your points are extremely valid complaints, but this one especially I wanted to comment on. Kojima specifically made Naked Snake more "human" compared to Solid Snake, since he wasn't a war weapon cloned simply to be the best, like Solid Snake was from the start. He also wanted a contrast from younger and more naive Naked Snake, to the point where he actually became Big Boss, symbolized by those silly flowers that changed their color. From then on, he had one goal in mind--to make true The Boss's legacy and dreams or whatever, which set off the rest of the series. I kinda like things about Naked Snake, the way he has those goofy smiles like when he saw the beehive at the beginning, and the way he's so awkward around EVA Kojima actually switched out the mocap actors at one point, putting the one for action scenes in the up-close talking scenes, and putting the one who usually does those personal up-close scenes into the action scenes, just as an experiment (because he's kojima). He found that he really liked some of the scenes the action mocap dude did with EVA, since he wanted Naked Snake to be somewhat awkward. also, when you first meet Granin, his mocap dude wa actually drunk for that scene
Oh, trust me, I know all about the storyline and what Hideo was thinking. I know. But that's one of the reasons why I find Naked Snake so... cliche. He's just like every other human being out there in gaming history. He just has a different view of things and can do things no one on the planet can. But then again, so can the Prince of Persia.
What makes Snake so incredibly awesome (Solid Snake. The character everyone recognizes. Not Big Boss), is because he doesn't feel emotions. No love, no pain, no pride, no envy. Just hate and regret. If you read the Metal Gear data base in TTS you would have read that during the events of Metal Gear, Snake was blood thirsty. He loved to kill. He could not stop. It was his guilty pleasure. That's why (in MGS1), he tries to follow BB's code to get by every guard and enemy without lethal tactics. And up until MGS4, he always explains he's not a real man. Not worthy for life and because Liquid corrupted Snake's mental health, he thinks he's worthless and a kill machine man-made to kill. Like a robot.
