I'm trying to enjoy the 3D but...meh. It slightly adds something to the graphics and can be cool but it's not worth an inability to move my head (as I have to stay perfectly still in order for it to work that well).

so far this game just feels like Mario Kart DS without mission mode. It's Mario Kart so awesome, but I miss the brilliance of that game (7 has better courses and I love the Tanooki powerup though) or the insanity of Wii. The gliding is cool though, really naturally adds to the gameplay.

Random question:
For the courses where you're blasted up to the top of a mainly downhill course (Maple Treeway and Waluigi Pinball come to mind), can you (and if yes, how can you) increase your gliding speed through the tunnel? I ask this because whoever I go through one of those at the start of a race, I always go from like 2nd to 5th and I'm always like, "What the...?"

Yes you can. Just hold down on the circle pad. Your cart will tilt upward and you'll go faster in the tunnel. It really helps.

Does anyone else hop over the finish line?

I was just wondering.

I don't know who Navi was or why they only stuck around the second time I found them online but, however they were they beat me badly.

I left, because I don't want to play with only 2 other people.

I joined again, decided to race, and, as the Nekkid King of Australia, I beat you.

Ahh, well good game, I was waiting for theblackdragon. I think the other person gave up on beating you because they had red shells and only bothered using them when I passed on Wuhu Island

Got this for Christmas and am loving it so far. The 3D works so well that I would actually say that this is one of the nicest looking games I have ever seen. Anyone else agree?

If you thought Mario Kart 7 was beautiful wait until you see Ocarina of Time.

In my humble opinion, I think that Ocarina of Time is a marvelous game but the 3D effect wasn't so strong or as good as I thought it would be. Hopefully it will come through a LOT better in Kid Icarus Uprising. So far for me the 3D effect works a lot better in Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land; what I'm trying to say is the 3D literally jumps out and grabs me unlike in Ocarina of Time.

I liked the 3D in Ocarina of Time, especially with all the particles floating around and played with the slider on the whole time. Still, Mario Kart looked even better IMO. I'm glad Nintendo opted for the 3D tech rather than the higher res textures and polygons of the Vita. I'm always surprised whenever people say they prefer to play with 3D off, oh well, I'm happy with it

Hah. I tried going online as soon as I got the game, and the drifting threw me for a loop. I was used to Ye Olden Wiggle Fest type drifting from previous Mario Karts.

It's the same way in Mario Kart Wii.

That's actually funny since I played the hell out of MKW and never noticed... D:

Lots of sore losers out there who are in the NL community. DMC, particularly. If you lose, take the freaking loss. Think about it:

You disconnect in a 4 race game, you lose 4 times when even if you come in 2nd of say 5, you win 3 times. I remember in MKDS, whenever yo disconnect, your losses are accounted for how many other players there were when you were racing.

It really messes up the flow of the game :/

I really can't stand rage quitters.

I'd agree with you, but we don't know he is rage quitting.

My connection varies, sometimes I get a game every single time, yet others i rarely connect, and when I do I don't even play as I'm either disconnected before the race starts or during the first/second race.

Of course, he may be rage quitting, but you don't need to make an assumption.

I agree fully. The 3D makes the screen feel much larger, in the sense that it envelopes you. As opposed to hi-res textures on a tiny screen... bleh.
