Who is going to make this game? Most of Eiji Aonuma's staff are focused on Zelda Wii U because that may be the biggest game this system ever gets. He also appeared in the E3 video with the Hyrule Warriors producers. Aonuma and his team are spread thin right now and they just finished A Link Between Worlds for 3DS last summer. There are lots of new and older generation fans who would love a Majora's Mask remake. I bet Nintendo would love to do it, too. However, Nintendo is all about quality control and Zelda is one brand they don't mess around with much. I hear some people argue it would only take 6 months to make and that may be true, but the time doesn't matter; it's about who makes it, not when they make it. Once a few other projects wrap up, you may hear news about MM coming to 3DS.

I think Nintendo was gonna let GREZZO make it again.

Capcom at E3: Guys we're sorry about how we've been treating Mega Man so we're gonna make it up to you by releasing the Mega Man Cancelled Collection with all the titles we cancelled in the condition they we're in just before we pulled the plug. Now who wants Street Fighter X Monster Hunter?

Grezzo is a 3rd party company that has remade two Zelda games so far, Ocarina of Time for 3DS and Four Swords for DSiWare. They already developed the engine and assets for Ocarina of Time 3D and could reuse those to do a quick, easy remake of Majora's Mask for 3DS.

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

Majora's Mask Remake Theorists...
http://www.ign.com/boards/threads/super-mario-galaxy-2-home-t...
Regarding the HellValleySkyTree thing in Super Mario Galaxy 2... (In other words, the weird figures that appear on the cliff in Freezeflame Galaxy.)

Interestingly, Majora is supposedly a demon from hell of some sort.

Ikana Valley was one of the four locales in Majora's Mask

The final boss was fought inside the moon, which is typically located in the sky.

And the first temple was in a tree.

Grasping at straws since 2010... (I can only hope this guy wasn't being serious.)

In the upcoming Harvest Moon game, The Lost Valley...

There's a character named King of the Underworld, in other words he's the king of the Harvest Moon equivalent to Hell.

You live in a Valley.

You can build a dirt tower to reach the Sky.

And Trees grow naturally in the land.

Coincidence? I think HOENN SINNOH REMAKES CONFIRMED.

For all you paranoids out here;

When Miyamoto was asked about the Legend of Zelda during the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, he said the following;

''...we are gradually changing the structure of “The Legend of Zelda” series, and we are preparing to newly evolve the series for Wii U. In addition to that, we have ideas for Nintendo 3DS which we have not announced yet, so I hope you will look forward to them.''

I hope this dose't mean that the 3DS will get all the short, 2-D games like ALBW (was a great game) will the Wii U gets all the high tech 3-D month lasting games.Though that being said a game like oracle of ages/ oracle of seasons 3DS would be welcomed.

The thing is tho ALBW was a fully rendered 3d game but they were playing on the nostalgia of LTTP so they had it in the high camera point.

There's a reason why OoT got a remake, it is the best selling Zelda game. Majora's Mask didn't sell that well. This doesn't mean that a remake isn't going to happen, but if Nintendo wants to remake another Zelda game, there's plenty of other game to choose from, that sold better in the past, and will probably do so again.

VGChartz seems to disagree with the numbers here. According to them, Twilight princess is the best selling.

I love how 3.5 million copies isn't "that well." It was released late in the console's lifespan and required an add-on just to play it. 3.5 million is fantastic, all things considered. It almost matched the sales of Skyward Sword with 1/3rd the install base.

Most franchises never get a sniff at 3.5 million sales. Metroid sure hasn't.

I don't think anyone ever argued that it didn't sell great for the conditions at the time. 3.5 million sure is a huge number, but that doesn't take away the fact that there are more people who have played the other Zelda games. IF their business strategy with remakes is to cater to older nostalgic fans, remaking OoT seemed to be the better choice.

I think the issue is that people think that maybe Zelda's reputation is a bit larger than its actual sales history. Zelda and Mario are pretty much the 2 most widely known gaming series in the world (arguably). For saying it's quite widely known, it doesn't really sell anywhere near as much as Mario.

Its sales are also perhaps lower than should be expected given its critical reception. Zelda is probably the most critically acclaimed game series there is (e.g if you averaged out all of the metacritic scores). There are a few series with only a few installments that might compete (Half-life, Bioshock etc). But for long-running series, I can only think of Grand Theft Auto that comes anywhere near. And that sells a hell of a lot more.

A business strategy doesn't need to be so exclusive though. Doing one game doesn't mean not doing another. They can do both OoT and MM with no issues whatsoever. That's what this thread is really about.

Now that I've seen SSB 3DS and Persona Q's launch prices, I'm thinking they're saving Majora's Mask 3DS until they can charge $80 per new release.
