I think I am going to give this a try today. I really want a portable golf game and this might do the trick for a bit.

Is there any reason to buy this over the iPad version of Let's Golf 2 that I already have?

Is there an achievement list somewhere in this game? I know it has achievements, as I've gotten a few, but I can't find any list of them.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

@BulbasaurusRex: Yep, on the main screen where you can select "Career" and "Challenges" and stuff, you can also click the trophy looking thing on the right to view achievements

Anyone else having a problem with mexico shootout h 10-18? Ive done this now like 5 times and its not keeping score right. It very frustrating to get a birdie and it not change your score. Also get a bogey and go back 2 in my score. I've should have beaten this board by now!

In shootout you don't have a score that adds up after each hole... The person who finishes last in each hole is eliminated until there's only one person left... Unless I'm mistaking that for a different mode.
On topic: This game is pretty fun so not a bad purchase, but can have some problems with lag/glitches at times.

Yep your right I see that now. Thanks and figure I've played like 20 golf games before.

Is the lag in the trailer on the e-shop exactly the same as in the actual game?
Also does it still lag in 2D, if so I might pass.

I don't remember the trailer so I can't answer that but I've played it on 2D mode and it's still lagged...

I got the game about a week ago and put a few holes in it already (not a lot as I'm busy lately) but I really don't agree with anyone calling it a 9, and I don't agree with an under 7 even more so either. The game controls well, the putting works fine if you use all the gimmes it gives you including the trace line for the roll. The 3D while not huge and poppy like say Street Fighter is against those bland flat backgrounds, it is noticeable and pretty good in a more subtle way like Samurai Warriors and Ridge Racer uses it where it's less eye popping but gives necessary depth. I've not really hit the slow down people complain of, but what little I have seen is I think a mix of running off the SD card (it's a 220MB game loaded on the fly per green which is slow) and just poor optimizing of the code yet it never jacked up a swing of mine yet which is where it matters. It has a lot of nice unlockables and little goals to hit, trophies like on the PSN which is nice if you're into it (I've never been a fan as I don't need a game to pat me on the back to feel like my life is complete or so I can brag to others like a tool.), and just many courses and modes to mess with. I think even of the GB stuff I have (just mario land and zelda) it has the most value for the dollar and had it been fleshed out more and optimized, it could have very well been a card based game had it not been on a phone first.

yeah i was confused by this at first too. Its an interesting concept in a golf game I have not experienced but it also kind of sucks because you have to usually do fairly well every hole. More forgiving in the beginning but near the end you have to play pretty flawlessly so you don't get eliminated. lol nothing more frustating doing well the entire time and then really effing up on the last round to get eliminated. Still kinda fun though.

Hey have you guys noticed that there are medals sometimes laid out in the courses? (usually in awful places, like the rough and sand) I saw one in Kenya deep in the bunker and one in Germany. Are these like bonus medals? I'm assuming you have to hit them with the ball.

As the "helpful tips" that pop up during those very long loading times on the bottom screen tell you, there are three "hidden" medals in each course. And yes, you pick them up if you hit them with the ball.

I'm curious about this game and will probably purchase it with my next eshop points card. but I have a few questions about the game itself:

Is the amount of content in this game reasonable?
What's the replay value of this game?
Is it worth buying?
I would appreciate it from anyone who can answer these three questions, and thanks in advance

It has quite a bit of content. Kept me busy for a solid week. Still have stuff I can do to get all the achievements.

As for the second question I would say depends on after you unlock all the achievements there really isn't much to do but play rounds of golf.

I would say its worth buying in the long run though but it does have its flaws!

What wrong with Achievements and Gamerscores? They are basically the same thing as arcade leaderboards. Achievements are just little ways of expanding the game play, like the Challenges in Smash Bros. Brawl.

This was the first download game that I got. It's a golf game, pure and simple. It's somewhat of a copy of Sony's Hot Shots Golf series, the character designs look exactly the same. As for replay value, again, it's a golf game. All golf games can have endless replay value if you just want to improve your score in each hole.

There are plenty of extra things to do, such as "hit the ball through rings" like in Mario Golf, get the ball closest to the pin in one shot, achievements, unlockable characters and courses, etc.

Uhh tendo, I think I answered that in my post in the (brackets.) They're nice to be there, if someone needs that extra daily affirmation in life to feel like they've accomplished something, or if it's public because they like to brag, but I just don't care about or collect them at all. You got to remember my first system at home was the NES back in 1985. I haven't had a system that gave me digital door prizes until the Wii (Metroid Prime3) and PS3 and personally I don't like them popping up junk on screen while I'm playing. Wow! I killed a boss? Really? Yeah I just did that, don't need a badge for it, just like I don't for making it to another chapter, learning how to spit fire, fragging 3 targets with a grenade, or whatever else. They don't expand gameplay, they just work as a way on the digital level to show off to friends and rivals that you did something special because no longer you can do that w/out a digital piece of love as people don't come over to do 4player kill, race, puzzle, etc fests anymore. I hope this doesn't devolve into some topic diversion, if you want to go into it, make another thread.

Sometimes you get in-game currency or unlockables for getting achievements, which in my opinion is how they work best.
