3D Land isn't fun because it isn't an arbitrary "ideal" framerate that many don't even notice? Okay...

Its not arbitrary it is double 30.

If anybody doesn't notice then they are not playing it as fast as possible with the run button held down at all times. (Which is the way to play Mario always has been).

That sounds more like Sonic then Mario! I hate running through most of the game. You miss to much. Imo the only games that NEED 60 frames are racing, fighting, and FPS. I honestly think 60fps is overrated! Just give me a constant consistant 30fps and I'm happy!

Did Jett Rocket pour sugar down your grandmother's gas tank or something?

I'm not sure how something can rip off quite so many things that have just about nothing in common, but what do I know. I judged the game on its own merits rather than making a list of things that share vague, superficial similarities.

Do all these games have something in common... or are you just listing all the games you've played?

To be honest games are supposed to be reminiscent of their peers, at least in a genre. And taking the best elements of past games, well, that's called iteration in game development!

Not to mention that you've actually played the game, instead of blindly attacking it as if it set your pet gorilla on fire.
That's right. A pet gorilla. I went there.

It totally ripped off Pong, too. I'm sure of it. developers have no creativity.

I think the problem with Jett Rockett II is Shinen is much better at making Arcade style games like Nano assault or Fast. would like to see these guys try out other Arcady genere's or maybe something like a SRPG.

still on world one but i'm going to play through some of the game tomorrow.

WAT!

Hey check out my awesome new youtube channel shingi70 where I update weekly on the latest gaming and comic news form a level headed perspective.

I have done about 3-4 hours on Jett 2 so far and I`m only on world/area 2-3. It`s not a easy game, if your after all the unlockables. Really feeling the 2D levels with hope that the 3D one`s get better. Am having issues with Jett 2 after I die tho, where the screen just goes BLACK and I have to RESET my 3DS. This is only problem I have with this top quality game. It`s a shame a few people are getting upset over it`s inspiration from other games, it`s one of the things I like most about it.

The game is OK.

  • 2d levels are quite good, can't really complain here.
  • 3d levels are quite boring imo. Little to nothing to explore, no secrets to discover and very linear. Controls also feels slightly stiff on 3d levels.

This 3d level emptiness is probably because of this 60fps gimmick. 60fps for a game of this type is a gimmick plain and simple.

I would take 30fps ANY day for having more content, things to discover, less linear levels and so on.

60fps seems to be part of the reason why 3D World is so generally well received. (If the hardware cannot deal with it then release some better hardware).

I think Nintendo could do 3D Land at 60fps if they were doing it now and it would be much more enjoyable because of it.

You die in a game like this you know it is your own fault.

I have never played a Mario game yet that has a run button without it held down throughout the whole game. (It is the way).

(It should assumed you do it - take Donkey Kong Country Returns for example the nunchuck speed is the same as the normal run button held down controls).

Try playing Sonic Adventure DX and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for the Gamecube. Solid 60fps makes everything better about the game.

There's an "Edit" button, dude. No need to quadruple post.

Try doing it reasonably on a mobile device. (I presume it would be even worse on the 3DS Browser).

Or you can take a second to think about what you've written before you hit post, so that you're not typing continuations of your thought several times throughout the course of the next minute.

Actually, yes, do that.

Try posting from a 1st generation android phone! The top/left half calibration is off by anywhere from 15-25 degrees. 6years old and stays on the charger for like 85% of the day! Yep I do about 95% of my posting from it. Much easier to use my 3ds but not as convenient!

Oh and its 3g and slow as a snail! Wont connect to a wifi signal either anymore. The back needs to be taped on to keep the battery in as well and I just edited!!!

I have 3D Land, and i didn't die once because of the framerate. Same with DKCR 3D, which runs at 30fps vs the Wii's 60fps. Again i never died because of 30fps.. For me at least this isn't an issue at all.
