like in one stage you fall and have to evade some kind of lasers (?). you have to do it absoloutly perfectly and you have to memorize where you have to go. really hated that part!!
Use Flash Man's weapon and it gets easier although it doesn't last long enough to dodge all lasers with it so it helps to use it later in the stage when it becomes near impossible.
well maybe i will try 3 after i beat 2. the save function from the virtual console is such a blessing!!! xD LOL
one more enemy to go and then i will go for dr. wily (what an evil name)
i would really like to play the X games on super nintendo. too bad you cant get them on 3DS
Mega Man 3 is definitely harder than 2, but I don't recall it having a BS stage that can insta-kill you over and over like Quick Man's stage.
Also, beware of one particular boss near the end of MM2 that you can't beat if you don't have full ammo for the crash bomber and know which spots to shoot with your weapon. One wrong shot will render the boss unbeatable.
MM2 is pretty easy when you learn its ins-and-outs, but it has a few unfair sections that you have to learn through sheer trial and error. MM3 is much more challenging (for me), but I don't recall it having a handful of unfair sections like in MM2.
They're both classics, and both perfectly beatable if you set your mind to it. They're classic NES games, so they're not going to hold your hand.
If you don't like the originals then try Megaman Zero, or the X games there a bit faster and the characters gain power ups as the game progresses, X2 on the eshop great game.
Lifes like a game there are those who are good at it and those who need some practice.

Game Boy IV and V would probably be easier for you to get into and are fairly fun at the same time. I recommend those.

I've decided to start playing through the classic series. I've finished Megaman 2 and 3, and finally started on the first one. Right now I'm stuck on THIS HORRID ABOMINATION:
I knew it was hard, but Dear GOD! It's already become my absolute least favorite videogame boss.
@NintendoFan64
The Yellow Devil is quite tricky isn't he
If you really can't beat him, use the Elec Beam and pause the game after you shoot it and it hurts him. Just keep pausing and unpausing the game, it makes the boss a joke.

I'll try it. Thanks for the tip.
There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...
@CapnPancakes Is it only me? Or is the Yellow Devil actually a medium-difficulty boss if you're avoiding his blocks (and I'm saying this, cause it can be hard to dodge his projectiles). Seriously, the Disintegrating Man (or how I like to call him) could be a whole lot easier if people just focus on the pattern and the speed of the blocks, so that they "carefully" react with quick jumps every time he decides to recreate himself. Are people's reactions just slow? Or is it so threatening to everybody that they choose to use the "pause trick". I've only had problems with him the first few times. I honestly think that the MM3 Yellow Devil (newer model) is tougher (without using an e-tank).

Yellow Devil really isn't that difficult when you can avoid the blocks, but that's rather tricky to do. I've actually beaten him without using the pause trick since all you really need to do is memorize his pattern. For first time players and especially those new to the series, I wouldn't recommend trying that though.

It's not just you. I don't find his pattern that hard to dodge, either. Honestly, that boss rush in the final stage usually gives me a harder time than the Yellow Devil.
MM2 is a favorite of many. I think MM3 was good too, if a bit too easy.
If you're going to get all six anyway though, you might as well play them in order. The first is considered the hardest I believe, namely because it did things a bit more different than the others

I think some just have twitch reflexes. At least that was my problem. I don't remember him giving me a huge amount of trouble.
The problem for me was that even at my best, I couldn't do the pattern 100% consistantly. Once I'm thrown off the game, it's difficult to get back on...
