Topic: GBA/3DS Games

I'm really suprised that certain title's arn't available on the eshop, especially Mario World that was converted to the GBA.

When are full retail 3DS games being released on the store? I know NSMB2 will be there this Friday, but is anything else coming?

Well I'd like to see some GBA games - I missed out on loads, and would love to play Mario World again.

I wanna play Mario bros 3 again. And I wanna be able to use e-reader stuff this time.

Pretty much every first party Nintendo title starting with NSMB2 will launch on the eShop digitally alongside retail, don't know about third party releases though.

It seems possible that earlier Nintendo releases like Super Mario 3D Land, Ocarina of Time 3D, Star Fox 64 3D, Mario Kart 7, Pilot Wings Resort, Kid Icarus Uprising, Super Pokémon Rumble, etc, may be given retail downloads down the line.

I would love it if GBA games were added to the eShop (there are loads of games I missed as well), but Nintendo stated long ago that GBA games weren't ever going to be released on eShop, and until they say otherwise, I'm going to take them at their word.

The good news is, is that there are enough great GB, GBC, and GG games we haven't gotten yet, to make the lack of GBA games a non-issue.

I am an Ambassador, and I know from my experience from the games we got, they didn't even slightly optimize them for play on the 3DS. The only features the NES games lacked were a proper icon and restore points. As for GBA games, there is no proper icon, no restore point, no reset game button, and no auto save (where the game saves as soon as you shut it off). Heck, they even lack any trace of the VC menu! Also, other 3DS features (like sleep mode, and WiFi) shut off while playing GBA games.

@RR529 As a non-ambassador (like myself) the soul reason why nintendo has no gba vc plans for the public is because what I have been hearing the gba emulation on the 3ds is VERY lousy like you said. Nintendo doesn't want to make fans angry because unlike the nes vc games they lack ALOT more features like you just mentioned, That being said they will happen eventually but not until they are ready for public.
Edit: speaking of gba games & nintendo none of this ambassador only crap would have happen if the 3ds started at $169.99 I don't care why people want gba games to be exclusive to ambassadors I don't want my favorite console (gba) to get the short end of the stick like with the n64 on the wii (freaking expansion pak)

@Brando67854321 you really can't complain about ambassador stuff unless you are one. And the games are just what they originally were, nothing special yet nothing disappointing.

I will still complain about gba because when the 3ds was coming out they only mentioned gameboy, gameboy color, GAMEGEAR & TG-16 (which we will never see due to hudson soft) & nothing about gba games! Heck even VIRTUAL BOY games have a better shot on the 3ds vc then gba games because the virtual boy 3ds possibility was hinted by Reggie & Miyamoto. Is that sad or what?

@Brando67854321 - Just because Nintendo has not announced any plans for GBA games to come to non-Ambasador 3DSs (or other games besides the 10 Ambassador titles for Ambassadors, for that matter) doesn't mean they're not laying down plans to put them out in the future. My theory is that they're not releasing them now because 1. They need to improve the emulator for GBA games, since that seems very rushed to keep their promises to Ambassadors, and 2. They're trying to milk as much money as they can from GB/C titles, since, if GBA games were released now, there would be many consumers who would never consider buying 8-Bit VC titles when they could get 32-Bit ones for a similar price. Just be patient. Frothing at the mouth 24-7 over something like this is just a recipe to a heart attack.

I just want to play SMA2 again. I loved that game so much, and find it better than the SNES version.
