I don't really mind the slight upscale blurring. Any way you choose to play it, this is a must have game. This type of simple but enjoyable gameplay is the very definition of retro gaming at it's best. If you have 100 Club Nintendo coins but don't have this game yet, you should've already had 100 less coins in your account by now. Seriously, it's one of the very best Gameboy games I've ever played. And I grew up with the Gameboy, so that's saying something.
I like it with the Game Boy border, I can't stand the blurriness in the other resolution. -.-
How on earth do you get the Game Boy border? I can only turn the screen pea green. I've been trying to figure this out since I got my 3DS last year.

While the game is starting up (ie. after you've clicked Open) hold down EITHER Start or Select until the game starts up. If done correctly you will see the GB border with the screen at its original size. You can also use 3D to make the screen sink into the GB border, which is a nice touch.
@Emaan1, you can also change the tint of the display to the orignial Gameboy contrast, by pushing the, "Y," button. I never had the original green screen Gameboy, so it holds no nostalgia for me. I actually won my Gameboy in a prize drawing that was on the back of a box of cereal, in the early 90's.
Edit: Oops... I didn't read the previous post, nevermind.
That's what I thought...on second thought maybe I did get it to work and just forgot. XD

Wish the game would display in its SGB mode, along with the optional border, & SGB enhanced sound. Pauline screams "help", replaced by a GB sound squeal.
@G4L, Yeah I like the Black + White screen better than the green. I also never had a green screen Game Boy so I don't see the point.
I'm glad I got this gem of a game though! If I hadn't gotten it from Club Nintendo, I probably wouldn't have ever bought it.
So where's everyone at in the game? I'm in Stage 4 : Jungle
Yeah, DK '94 was something I'd been on the fence on for a while, so 100 CN coins was the perfect excuse to give a try and I'm so glad I did. I'm not even done (I'm in the Stage 8 now, the Iceberg area), and it's already one of my favorite GB/C games.
I'm a little shock, how good this game is, can't beileve I miss it as a kid.
Its way more fun then MariovsDK on the GBA, the controls are really top-noch for an old game.
I really didn't think this game was going to be this good, now I wish I played it as a kid. Best 100 coins I ever spent.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...

I'm a little bit embarrassed to ask this, but how the hell do you reach the key in world 2 level 1?
Come on guys! As popular as this game is, somebody easily has to know. I haven't even bothered to try playing this game anymore, because running through the same level over and over isn't much fun. What am I overlooking!?

I turned on my 3DS and opened up DK'94 in hopes of trying to help you............only to discover all of my saved data and Restore Point were erased, gone, outta there

I actually just replayed the entire game this past weekend...remind me what's in the level and maybe I can help you from memory. Otherwise I'll have to open it up and get back to you later.
EDIT: nm, I looked up the stage. To reach the key you just climb the ladder and throw the switch and a bridge will appear. Unless I'm looking at the wrong thing!
