Do you need previous experience in Ace Attorney games in order to play them. I was thinking of buying Dual Destinies since I've always heard great things about the series and want to give it a shot since it's on discount in North American e-shop?
(This is the first time posting here so if I did something wrong let me know)
Dual Destiny works quite fine even for beginners. Its story takes place after Apollo Justice, but in terms of references and connections to old chapters it's maybe one of the AA games with the least of them. The 95% of the game, if not even more, plays around its own story and characters instead than rely on the past.
I would dare to say you can take the risk and buy the game if you want to try out the serie
Edit: Wait, the question in the title say "ANY", just noticed XD
For give a full answear, what I say count for Dual Destiny and Apollo Justice, the original trilogy instead definitely requires to be played in order for be appreciate fully, then again nowaday it is sold as a "3in1" with the remake for 3DS coming soon and the full package on mobile.
You don't need to play all of them no, but there is a central focus on characters. If you do play Dual Destinies, you'll most likely end up wanting to go back and play the previous games to get all the little references and find out more about the characters' pasts.
The game is a steal even at full price, so definitely pick it up on sale if you're interested!
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
I've always wondered this same thing about Professor Layton. Given that the Ace Attorney 3-pack thing for 3DS is coming out, you should obviously start with that. Maybe buy Duel Destinies on the discount and just wait to play it. From what I've played of the first game, it's awesome and not to be missed.
