The images on eShop don't look like much (almost looks like it could have started out as DSiWare), but I want to support Japanese eShop games (only have Family Tennis 3D, so far), but It seems like they always seem to fall under par (according to reviews).

Hope it ends up good, though.

I would just like to point out something regarding that review. It mentions 2 bugs in the game. I wanted to confirm that both of those bugs have been fixed for (USA) and (UK/EU) versions.

Thanks for the heads up (I take it your an Agetec rep?). Sounds like it could be a good little "Metroidvania"-esgue game.

It looks interesting enough but I will probably wait for a review before I pick it up. That and when I get the extra cash to spend.

Played for about an hour and a half, and beat two bosses. Game is a metroidvania that plays like the Ys games where you run into enemies to deal damage, running into them from the front or jumping on them means you take damage, so it's ideal for you to attack from the back. You also get to use magic in the form of fire, ice, and thunder; have only used the fire magic so far and it works well.

Pros: music is surprisingly good for a budget title, the 3D effect is serviceable, decent enemy variety so far, and the platforming is also pretty good.

Cons: unable to skip text the second time around(in case you die), but that seems to be the problem for many games, big budget or not. Another con/nitpick is the font used for the shop menu, it's a bit too tiny, but nothing game breaking.

Overall, definitely recommend the game to fans of metroidvanias. Glad I picked this up and looking forward to finishing it!

Edit: Forgot to add that the localization is better then I expected for a $5 game. The story doesn't take itself to seriously but doesn't insult your intelligence either! So props on agetec for that!

Guessing you work for agetec? If so, one thing I always wondered about is why so many games in the eShop(including Bloody Vampire and Witch's Cat) don't have videos? I understand you can always hop on your computer/tablet/smartphone if you wanna check out a video but it would be convenient to have it right there on the eShop, and would think that it would also sway some customers to buy the game. Just wondering

Hello Pedrron,

Yes, I am the main localization producer with Agetec. I wish I had an answer for you, but honestly, I don't.

I agree that every eShop title should have a video, which a video is a requirement by Nintendo to create, submit and be approved for eShop. Both Bloody Vampire and Witch’s Cat should have their videos on the eShop. I am finding out why they are missing.

Sounds like you are enjoying the game and I’m looking forward to when you get those magic levels increased, also there is Dark magic as well. And soon you’ll gain the ability to transform into a bat or wolf, which is good fun.

And the feedback is always appreciated both the pros and cons.

@Septiego, I know this is a bit off topic, but I've noticed that Agetec seems to publish a lot of Silver Star Japan games. There are two block breaking games they have developed, Hyper Paddle Block Crusher & one earlier than that (couldn't translate due to lack in Kanji skills), and was wondering if Agetec was planning on bringing either title over?

Also, do you work with Arc System Works' & Intense's games as well?

I am familiar with both of those “block breaking” titles. And no we’re not going to be releasing either of those two titles.

Recently, we begin working with some additional developers, however at this time I can’t say who. But, I do believe that there are games available only in Japan that should be released here and we’re doing what we can to make it happen.

I spent a few hours playing this game. I seem to be about 3/4 of the way done (I have 3 out of 4 crucifixes). My main complaint: where is the map??? There's quite a bit of backtracking required to get through the game, and not having a map kind of makes it a pain. Other than that, I've found the game to be thoroughly enjoyable.

Oh well. I'll keep my eye on whatever you guys release, maybe something will catch my interest (Will probably DL Bloody Vampire sometime in the next few weeks).

I think I made it to the final boss, but he seems really, really, ridiculously hard. I'm probably too underpowered to face him right now because after I collected the last crucifix to open up the final area, I ended up taking a route which led me straight to the boss and presumably skipping side areas that would've given me more items and upgrades. This is where having a map would be really helpful, because I'm forced to go back and look for more stuff before I have a chance at defeating the boss, but I'm never going to remember which routes I have or haven't explored.

Septiego

Yes, I would say you are underpowered. Exploration is a big part of this game and much needed in order to upgrade magic and collect items. I understand your desire for a map, but simply put, I think it would have simplified the game too much.

I hate to use the word “Forced”, have fun discovering new area. Use bat form to find items you normally couldn’t get and upgrade. Finally, when read and you kick his butt, the word “Forced” suddenly becomes “Rewarding”.

Haha Nope I don't work for agetec. I usually don't buy games that don't have videos posted myself but I bought this one and was glad I did so. I just posted the gamefaqs link to give people a little info on it since the game really didn't have any info. I don't work in the game industry I'm just a fellow gamer. As Far as the Bugs go we will have to see if we can find them. Let's hope not

I'm really glad I picked this up. It reminds me of a Turbografx/PCEngine game called Ys mixed in with a little Dynastic hero. It has a great nostalgic feel to it with the retro backgrounds and music. The music has PCEngine written all over it. The PCEngine was known for really good music in its titles and this game has that feel to it. Gameplay is pretty cool Running into enemies at the beginning takes a bit of getting used to but will be second nature in no time then you are throwing fireballs not far from the beginning. This is the Kind of 3d I was hoping for when the 3DS was released and we are starting to see alot of these now. This isn't a must have or download but it's darn fun and I would give it a 7 out of 10. I've beaten 2 bosses so far and have been exploring the area after the 2nd boss starting to check every nook and cranny for would be secrets or items

I also downloaded the Witches Cat. I haven't had a chance to load that up and play yet but it also looked cool. I have played Raby Laby and liked both titles this shouldn't be any different except that the 3D looks really good

Bought the game last night and finished it this morning. A little bit disappointed because I wanted to learn more about Latis and Cereza. Oh well, it was a lot of fun even though it barely lasted 3 hours. I had every items, beside the one that can be bought at the shop(got the cape to go through fire cloumns though) and I wasn't full upgraded(stats).

On nintendo website, it says "Explore and discover a significant side quest". Anyone knows what is it? because if I count the items I didn't buy at the shop, my inventory would be full and I don't remember any passage I wasn't able to go through when I found them.

I kinda Blew through the first 2 bosses without looking for side passages. I have started looking for them before I move on to the 3rd boss. I just love the Music in this game. It reminds me of so many PCE titles
