Also that would give the game a good reason to have the title "Metroid" I guess.
Does the game we are talking about for the topic haves Metroids in it?

KO-Cub

I presume so. It's in the Prime series and every planet had a new Metroid (Prime 2 surprised me) so I bet their'd be many. I would like to know where it's placed though in the Prime timeline and how it'll fit with lore. Speaking of lore, I hope they add scanning and lore stones.

What I find hilarious is how everyone was saying "this better be a Metroid game" after it was shown at the NWC.

Samus having Metroid abilities would be cool. And slightly humorous. I just imagine her going into her ball form and sprouting little legs and levitating to sap enemies of their strength.

@GrizzlyArctos I don't believe samus actually has X-DNA, she recieved the metroid vaccine which absorbs the X like a living metroid would, but this doesn't imply she has still functional X DNA in her. (otherwise metroids in general would have X-DNA in them.)

@Bronze Metroids were already confirmed for MPFF awhile ago, there is one mission that has them according to tanabe.

@KO-Cub, Prime hunters didn't have any metroids.

The timeline is really simple guys. You just have to split the series into 3 timelines and then figure it out from there. One where Ridley wins. One where Samus wins. And one where Samus goes back in time to save Hyrule.

The fact you are reading this proves you are able to have an attention span longer than me. Well done sir or madam!

Apparently Retro Studios is responsible for the design of the mechs in Federation Force.

My reaction: BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAA. The studio that Metroid fans hold so highly designed the chibi looking mechs that people hate so dearly. That's hilarious.

At this point I'm not even sure Retro is in charge of these decisions. DK rehashes and Chibi GF does not sound like something Retro would want to do.

Both really. It's pretty uncharacteristic of Retro to recycle gameplay styles and work on cartoony looking games.

There's a high chance that this game is gonna be in the bargain bin for $5. Along with Superman 64.

Some random dude on Nintendo Life.
Toriel left for a while, so Freaky Fred took over her place!
Not changing this part of the signature until Nintendo announces Super Mario Sunshine 2.

@NightmareEater: Doubt it. Nintendo doesn't like dropping their game's prices. Well at least not to such extremes and at such a fast rate.

Funny you should mention that:

Yeah, I don't think the game will be $5 anytime soon.

Are people still screaming bloody murder over this game?

Other M isn't dropping price because the game itself wasn't bad, it's still a good quality, fun to play, fairly long experience, it's just the story itself with samus that ruined it. MPFF will probably hold the same legacy, an excellent well made game that's fun to play, but the story and graphics (which for a trailer beta, can still improve) will be lacking or mediocre in the final released.

I have hope for it, but to me I think next level's moral lower enough after the trailer reception for them to not even give the game it's all. Heck, a cancellation seems likely over wasting time and resources catering to metroid fans.

That's honestly weird. Other M has been hovering around like $11 where I live. Even gamestop right now has it for $10. Amazon has it for like $25. I got it for $11 a few years back. Point being, retailers discounted it since it didn't do so hot. I think places where it's still $50 are out of the ordinary. I think many people blame nintendo for their games staying high priced when in reality, the reason they stay so high is because people consistently buy them at that price. If sales dropped off, then so would the price. That's sort of how supply and demand works.

Jeez some of you really do hate this game with a passion. It's funny how certain aspects can ruin peoples impression of a game SO quickly.

The fact you are reading this proves you are able to have an attention span longer than me. Well done sir or madam!

@MegaBeedrill: @Operative: I can easily find not just Other M, but also the Prime games (not the Trilogy of course) for less than 10 bucks. I think that none of the recent Metroid games gained the commercial success Nintendo hoped them to get, or at least, there seems to be little demand for those games.

I'd love to see a remake of metriod prime hunters on the 3ds
