Well, my Wife and I are back into Animal Crossing. My towns people are kinda pissed but they got over it fast lol.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

BlackKat

Does anyone think that there should be an option to change you player/town name?

Love who you are and love what you DO!

I have Animal crossing and I think it's a really amazing game however do you guys play day by day. I just find it so slow like I have to stop my game progression cause I have run out of things to do on that day!?

So I've just recently come back to play some Ninty games and am starting with ACNL. Looking for some places to visit!

As I said above I love this game but I find it hard to keep playing cause it's so slow. Is it just a case of taking it day by day. I don't want to time jump either really.

It's really awkward saying this but New Leaf is getting an update with amiibo support and more in the fall!

Have bugs gone down in value? Yesterday Golden Stags sold for 9,6k bells, did they not go for 12 or so?

Not sure about changes in value, but the new update really did breathe some "new leaf" into this game.

The new mini games alone are really really worth the time.

Island Escape was already the best thing in Amiibo Festival, and having it on the go plus being able to use play coins to hire your own neighbours makes it that much better.

Puzzle League is Puzzle League, and the story mode is fun to watch and play. The Amiibo abilities are a nice way to implement them, while still making it playable without them.

And both games remember the last Amiibo(s) you used, so you don't need to carry them around just to play.

They're full featured games that could have been sold separately on the eshop. I'm liking it a lot.

I like the update a lot. I can also continue trying to catch all of the bugs and fish. Got a mole cricket yesterday!

@Meowpheel found out why I got less bells now. Sold them to the wrong character. The raccons pays less than the Lama.

I like the New games too, I love Puzzle League.

Oh that explains it then. Yes, they pay less... I wonder why do they even have the sell option there anyway, Re-Tail is not only closer to you, it's usually open a bit longer.

Just bought this when the update came out (yeah, I know, I know) - it's kind of a slow game - made a non-mayor save file just to have a bit more to do, though I was kind of hoping they'd show up in the town to interact with. Characters keep asking me to catch fish, but nobody sells a fishing rod (supposedly Nookling Junction has it, but I'm 0-for-5 on daily store inventories in that case). It's definitely got that Nintendo Charm to it though, I can feel that seeping through everything the game does. Got that 100% approval rating, just waiting on my development permit now, it feels like the game should open up at that point (and once I pay off my house loan, 40000 bells is less than I expected)

I did get a Wii U out of a fortune cookie though, and that Island Escape is like its own $6 eshop game (sup kirby fighters deluxe?) hanging out as part of a free update. Would also like to visit "faraway villages" from the train station, but none ever show up in the listing.

Come hang out in Lanktown I guess?

Lynox5

@ap0001 You can only visit "faraway" towns from your 3DS friends. If no one in your friendlist opens up their gate, you cannot go visit them. So, you kinda have to make an appointment with someone in order to visit their town or have them visit you.

You can also get some tools from Isabelle if you ask her to teach you how to play.

If you want to visit other towns, I'm sure you'll find people to play with here.

Thanks to the both of you, I'll have to get people I know to pull their game out of the mothballs, probably know a good few people who don't even know this update exists.

Does anybody know how many new fortune cookies there are? I've seen people say they have gotten up to #57, but nobody has been able to confirm that that is the highest. Also, I have not been able to catch any trash in the river or sea to complete the new initiative (I love the initiatives, by the way. They give me much more reason to keep playing this more). I know I don't have the clean town ordinance. Is there any other reason I might not be able to find trash?
