Has anyone else experienced "AN ERROR HAS OCCURRED" message when playing with friends? We have two copies of New Leaf at my house, and one of them constantly crashes when playing as a Club Tortimer member, or playing either with WiFi or a system to system link. It doesn't give an error code, just says "An error has occurred" with Resetti on the top screen. Usually it kicks you back in front of your train station, with everything since the last save lost. Once it shut down Animal Crossing and set off Resetti actually coming and yelling about not saving.
This is a serious fun sponge when this happens, and it happens almost every time there is any multiplayer use. There goes all the fish, bugs, plants and medals you got when it occurs. I looked through this thread and didn't see it mentioned, but I could have missed it somewhere among the 2,160 previous posts. It doesn't happen with my downloaded copy of the game ever, but it does with our physical cartridge copy.
Yes actually, but there was 4 of us in my house. We all appeared back at our train stations like you said. Both me, and my wife who were in the group, have physical copies.

It happens to me from time to time. Just remember when your gates are open you can still save the game even with people over. also in the island when you deposit your items in the box they are safe even if an error occurs.
Pretty bored here atm, my town pretty much dies at this hour. Haven't tried out the mp yet so if someone has an open town I'll happily join. Can take some cherries with me if someone still needs them.

Is anyone else organising some small activities with friends other than the island? A few friends of mine want to have a swimming, pitfall wrestling, find the timer and hide and seek time next week for a total of 2 million bells for the person who manages to win. We're all contributing 500k each but I hope I win because I need the 2 million for building purposes! >.<

About 17 or so hours clocked. Have played every day since release. It's a ton of fun, but I'm not going to let it monopolize all of my time. Thus, I haven't really done much with online play. Just finding all of the fossils, catching a few bucket-loads of fish and bugs to sell, financing various things (mortgage, public projects), populating my museum, speaking to all of the townspeople, and perusing the stores for new stuff to buy easily takes up 2 or so hours of my time every day. Longer when I go to the island and go on tours.
My only operational goal right now is to finish financing the construction of a new bridge, as I'm tired of having to trek all the way across town to cross the stream.
Can someone tell me how the island works, can you go there anytime you want? Met the old mayor just today so I'll be able to go there tomorrow, it sounds like fun so I'm kinda anxious.

Yes.
You can go anytime you want once it's available. 1,000 bells are needed to ride the boat there and back though, so keep that in mind~
@MrPanic You can go to the island anytime but you have to pay 1000 bells each time to Kapp'n. You can find fish, bugs, palm tree fruit, buy/sell items and there are activities that you can play alone or with peers.
