If you haven't been able to return to your local cinema yet, but still want the experience of going to the movies, you can now make this fantasy a reality in Fortnite. This Friday, on 26th June, Epic Games is hosting a movie night in Fortnite's Party Royale mode.
So what will be screened? One of the three Christopher Nolan classics: Inception, Batman Begins, or The Prestige. The movie you'll be able to watch in the game all depends on the region you're located in.
The US will get Inception, while the UK will be able to watch The Prestige. Other locations will screen Batman Begins. You can see exactly what each country will be watching over on the Party Royale website. Unfortunately, some countries like Australia and New Zealand will miss out.

Or alternatively, I could pour myself a tall glass of Mr Muscle, kick back and relax to something more interesting, like Dogging Tales on Channel 4.
All great films! But I got the best one... INCEPTION.
The Dark Knight is in my top 5 all time movies. Chris Nolan had made so many 10/10 movies and imo is my generation's Kubrick. Can't wait to see Tenet.
Prestige is highly underrated compared to Nolan's other films
Honestly has my favorite non-Wolverine performance from Hugh Jackman
@JHDK I’m sure Kubrick would have put his movies in Fortnite lmao
I heard watching the Tennet trailer in Fortnite was too distracting to be fun. Don't see this turning out well.
@nessisonett He did make Spartacus as a cash grab to make his future, far better movies.
Wonder if they'll go and slap the batman stuff in the shop again, it'd be an easy tie-in sale lmao
I’d take out The Prestige for Memento.
Who wants to watch his Batman movies a second time? They're just dark and depressing for the sake of it without actually being fun to watch.
Nothing available for Australia whatsoever.
Prestige is a brilliant film, but so under-rated, I found Inception a bit up it's own arse. Batman Begins was a nice re-boot, but tried to take itself way too seriously.
So many awesome movies, must be a tough job picking one of them, however I do think Inception is an amazing movie, the way it juggles the different dream timelines without getting confusing is pure genius, also the amazing score by Hans Zimmer is just perfect, and stays with you for quite a while.
@nessisonett,
Not a fan I see, but each to their own as we say.
Never seen Inception. I might do this on Friday.
@LightyKD,
I wish I could watch it for the first time, but it is a movie that you pick up more things on repeat viewings.
Dumb AF. Kind of ashamed of Nolan on this, tbh. Really tacky.
They're all great films, but I'll stick in the past with my blu rays for these.
@JohnnyC,
The awesome thing about the Blu-ray's is not only the picture, but the awesome lossless audio, really brings movies to life.
@HappyMaskedGuy Given how outspoken he is for traditional film, I imagine this is more Warners than Nolan. They're the ones who have control over distribution and marketing of these films, not him.
@JohnnyC I dunno. It’s Christopher Nolan. I think at this point he can demand pretty much whatever he wants.
@HappyMaskedGuy I'm not a fan of it either. To date I've chosen not to bother with Fortnite at all (not enough gaming time for a time-sink game like that) so this is wasted on me. However, whether it's Nolan or Warners (I suspect the latter deals with distribution of their own legacy films rather than the filmmakers) it's not a bad way of promoting a film when conventional advertising (cinema trailers, outdoor posters) is a waste of time and money.
@JohnnyC I suppose you’re right—but I think it would be cooler to stream select viewings of these films for free, at certain times, via Youtube, with a big new Tenet trailer at either end.
@nessisonett On the other hand Kubrick mentally tortured his leading actress to breaking point for which she never fully healed from to get the performance he wanted. I love Kubrick's work, one of my favourite director but he would sell out if he had to and he was a complete *sshole of a person.
@WallyWest Who did Kubrick mentally torture?
@HappyMaskedGuy Shelley Duvall apparently had quite a bad time on The Shining.
@MarzipanD I’m pretty sure she was a pain in the ass on set due to diva-ish, incessantly neurotic behaviour, which apparently annoyed a lot of people at the time. I saw a documentary where Kubrick and other crew were clearly out of patience. She milked the attention seeking too much.
Her long-term mental deterioration had little to zip to do with Kubrick, though. I think @WallyWest needs to elaborate, because if he’s talking about Duvall, I’m pretty sure he’s mistaken. Duvall was already mentally ill, and her trajectory was governed by her own brain development/ deterioration—not Kubrick blanking her and telling her to do her job.
I may be wrong. But I do think the whole ‘Kubrick made Duvall crazy because he mentally tortured her on set’ is a movie myth, akin to, ‘the Joker killed Heath Ledger’.
@HappyMaskedGuy I think it's always a case of where info is coming from. Kubrick was described as "tyrannical" on set not just to Duvall. Apparently she had to do 127 takes to get the baseball bat scene the way he wanted it. She ended up dehydrated and her hands were raw from swinging the bat.
@HappyMaskedGuy Yeah it was Duvall and yeah what he done to her was abuse, he told crew and cast to be horrible to her and he made her do 100's of takes of the same thing just so he could get her being so warn down and distraught.
Kubrick was a fantastic director, i adore his films and at least two of his films grace my top 10 (Dr Strangelove and The Shining) but he was a nightmare to work with. Yes what Kubrick done to Duvall wasn't the root cause of mental state being destroyed but it played its part. Wanna know why her performance is the way it is? Its because she was being put through hell and being warn down.
@WallyWest I’ll certainly look into it. You seem pretty certain, and I’m no authority.
Regardless of Kubrick, I thought it was absolutely scandalous how that TV network recently took advantage of Duvall’s mental illness for the sake of ‘exclusive’ entertainment. Revolting behaviour.
