To celebrate Sonic the Hedgehog in 2020, Sega is sharing special news on the 20th of each month. In March, it has an "announcement or two" prepared for a Sonic panel at SXSW 2020, and now in the latest update it's announced, 'Sonic Station Live!' – the first of its monthly broadcast series.
This event will take place next week on 20th February at 6:00 pm JST, and you'll be able to tune into the live stream on YouTube. According to a tweet by Sega Official, there'll be introductions to everything related to Sonic the Hedgehog, along with coverage of the games and merchandise.
Could Sega have a surprise or two up its sleeve? Tell us what you're expecting in the comments below.

I wonder what this will entail and how long will it last? 2020 is turning into the Year of Sonic. Good stuff all around, can't say no to more Sonic related events
Let the first announcement be your selling Sonic to Nintendo so we can finally play a good Sonic game.
@mesome713 Yeah basically.
Sonic Mania 2 is the only info I really need, that or a port of Sonic Adventure 1 to the Switch!
I'll be listening to the Sonic Station broadcast on my Jet Set Radio.
I just saw the Sonic Movie. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. It seems like there should be a game to launch next to it, even if it's not directly based on it. But considering what happens when games absolutely must be out in time to accompany a movie, maybe it's for the best.
@mesome713 Oh God I hope not. Nintendo would mess up Sonic even more than Sega has
Welp, there went that Direct date.
Anyway, temper your expectations for this. As it's centered around Japan, I don't think it'll be much more than JP-exclusive merch and maybe a movie plug.
Actual substantial Western reveals are usually saved for SXSW and/or someone's E3 presser. (A Nintendo Direct is another likely venue.) I'd love to be proven wrong... but I'm not getting my hopes up just yet.
@Elvie Be sure the Yakuza don't track your locale over Space Channel 5... I've heard they don't take those who try to OutRun them all that well.
@mesome713 Do you want Sonic to be stuck as a permanent second fiddle to Mario and/or yet another IP just collecting dust? Because that's what happens if Nintendo buys Sonic.
Something tells me they are just way overhyping an eventual game trailer. Sega is so weird
Huge attention for Sonic given film etc - surprised they're not doing more with it (new game etc)
Maybe one day Sega will finally realize that a myopic focus on promoting a single franchise 24/7/365 while ignoring the pleas from gamers for other beloved IPs in their catalog year after year is having the opposite effect they're intending. I won't hold my breath obviously, but neither should they for me to buy another Sonic game at this point.
I personally want a linear 3D Classic Sonic game, like Bug!.
If we're talking about Sonic announcements only, (besides Mania 2) I would happily buy a port of Generations or a remaster of Colors.
Sega has so many IPS classic games that deserve to be revived.
Seen the movie last night. Very good, highly recommend. Roll on more sonic games and movies.
I need a Sonic the Hedgehog Odyssey!
I'm still waiting for that announcement for a Sonic Twitter Takeover with Sonic, Tails, Shadow, Eggman and Guest Star Movie Sonic. I wanna see someone ask where Eggman fell to in "Chao in Space!" My guess: He fell on top of Shadow, who was talking care of his Chao in the Dark Garden, and Shadow brings it up and it triggers Shadow so much that he causes another Chaos Blast. That should be a tradition!
On Monday, 6 AM my time??? omg I guess I'll get spoiled as soon as I turn my pc on that day. Which won't be as soon.
