Bandai Namco has revealed it will be releasing a free-to-play version of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 on the Switch eShop this summer. This Lite version was previously made available to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners back in March.
Unfortunately, it will only be playable for a limited time. Still, it's a good chance to try out this game if you haven't been willing to fork out for it previously.
This Lite version of Xenoverse 2 includes five story episodes, online battles and online quests, access to the Hero Colosseum mode and the ability to transfer save data to the full version.
Would you be interested in trying out Xenoverse 2? Or do you already own it? Leave a comment below.

Ok... So a demo? I think that's what people call them, namco
@Morpheel Well yes and no. A demo usually isn't a (fully) supported game. This is more like a trial version than a demo version.
This game is old news, how bout one for Dragon Ball FighterZ instead.
@retro_player_22 lol
@retro_player_22 There was one for FighterZ, they had an Open Beta before the game launched on Switch.
They are dead set on supporting this game in 2019. They just released a new DLC pack full of characters and other goodies. Ribrianne, SSJG Vegeta, and SSJB Evolution Vegeta to be exact.
Hopefully, when the Anime returns, they'll adapt the Moro arc from the Dragonball Super manga. Meaning games like FighterZ and Xenoverse 2 can add Moro, who is one of the best DBZ villains to come out in a while. Though Moro's move set would be hard to do in Xenoverse 2 as Moro is a magic user with odd abilities. Like using the very planet they are on as his weapon, as he will use the planet's energy to erupt from the ground and attack opponents. Which would work much better in FighterZ since the characters are not only grounded, but in a 2D space which will make those moves work.
I already own the game. No need for this.
Yeesh, what's up with namco and xenoverse 2? First it was like 15 bucks at one point, and now this? What's next, they're just gonna give it away for free?
FighterZ rendered this one pretty much irrelevant. I’ll still give it a try anyway.
FighterZ puts this game to shame and speaking of FighterZ, hurry up and release Janemba...please.
I've been meaning to pick this up so I'll definitely try this free trial.
Good game, but the complete lack of Anti-Aliasing on the Switch version killed it for me.
@Arcamenel I'm still kicking myself for not buying the digital version when it was on sale on the eshop.
Already have it since day 1 but never really go into it yet. Same for Fighters.
DragonballZ Kakarot should be doable on the Switch... Make it happen!
Love this game and the support it still gets, recommend that anyone that haven't played it yet try this demo.
Why not? I will give this a try. If just for the ability to create a character that runs around in his underwear beating up people with monkey tails and weird 80's sci-fi armor.
And just as they have discontinued the physical version and are on the verge of replacing it with a code in a case.
They should keep it at full price and release a complete edition with everything on the cartridge instead (which may also coax existing owners to double dip), but nope... code in a case. They may as well include the DLC as well seeing as they aren't spending a cent on cartridge costs, but again... nope.
@Tsurii it’s apparently new to the switch itself.
Would seem odd to take the time to port a beta, but it’s probably that.
@patbacknitro18 They can do it again.
I wonder why they're doing this now instead of when this game wasn't almost two years old.
I came closing to buying this game on Switch. I wanted it on Switch Black Friday, then only found the PS4 game at Best Buy so I paid $19.99 for it. I then kicked myself after learning that my town's other Best Buy had it for Switch for $19.99 and the Target on the other side of town had the PS4 port for only $14.99.
Yep, but I may being to go buy the game today though. Wish it was out now so I could try it before I buy.
