Video game movies, television series and animations are all the rage right now. Following this recent trend is Dragon Quest.

If you're a fan of Square Enix's long-running JRPG series which started out on the Famicom in 1986, you may or may not have heard the news earlier this year about a 3D animated film based on the story of Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride - the fifth instalment in the series, released on the Super Famicom in 1992 and re-released on the Nintendo DS in 2008.

The upcoming movie titled Dragon Quest: Your Story is due out in Japanese cinemas on 2nd August this year. To promote it, an action-packed trailer has been released. It also confirms the legendary composer Kouichi Sugiyama is returning and the music throughout the film will be performed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra.

There's currently no word on a western release, but if anything is announced, we'll be sure to let you know.

What do you think of this trailer? Would you like to see it translated? Have you played the game it is based on? Tell us below.
