Since February, the video game publisher FDG Entertainment has been teasing a free Switch eShop demo for Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom. It's now finally confirmed the demo will arrive later this week on 14th March.
For anyone who doesn't already own this excellent action platform adventure, this is a great chance to try it out. You'll even be able to transfer your save file to the full game. When we played this game on release, we gave it nine out of ten stars and said it was a gorgeous title that did its spiritual predecessors proud.
Will you be downloading this demo? Have you already played and completed the full game? Tell us in the comments.

FANTASTIC game. A little on the hard site unless you get upgrades.
game didn't captivate me enough to finish....so can't give it a recommend
Good. Hopefully that game can scratch that Zelda II itch that I've been wanting for quite a while after playing its demo.
I am super psyched to try this out. Hopefully a sale would follow. ; )
This looks lovely; might have to give this a go after I clear up my queue.
This was such a fun game, I’d easily recommend at least trying the demo. Although keep in mind it does introduce a lot of interesting elements later on, so if it seems simple at first, maybe look up some later gameplay.
This demo will be a great way for me to determine whether it's worth high price for the full game. That is what stopped me getting it to begin with.
This is really cool, if anyone is on the fence, try it out! It's an awesome game!
Double dream hands!
This looks pretty fun. And that pig is adorable.
Yey looking forward to this. I am going to purchase at some point just haven’t yet
BUY THIS GAME!!!!! It's just fantastic, everything about it is dripping with dedication for the style and craft and it's just lovely, lovely stuff.
You know I've been waiting to try this game for some reason (also because I couldn't find a physical copy anywhere) and this gives me another reason to give it a go.
@jobvd But can you get lava boots for the bit with the Lion been stuck on that now for ages the lava bit is way to hard stoped playing on that bit.
I played trough that gorgeous WB remake. Too many games to play at the moment but at least I'll try the demo.
@bones you mean iceboots?
Demo will help ship some "units", but they missed the mark on pricing which I think is the biggest thing hurting their return.
Price conditioning is a thing and the Wonder Boy remake was $19.99? This may very well be 2x the game, but I personally am not willing to pay 2x the price.
My backlog is full of games I overpaid for as I'm fortunate enough to have enough $$$ to spend frivolously on switch games I may or may not ever actually play, so if a games price tag is making me pause then something is off.
I’ll try it out.
With all the hype, looking forward to test driving this game finally.
@jobvd yes
@Gamehendge To be fair, I believe it is more like 4x the length of Dragon's Trap. The size and price of games like Hollow Knight will definitely have hurt it though.
