UK chart data is now in for the week ending 16th February, with two Nintendo Switch games managing to maintain a position within the top ten.
There are three new games placing high on the charts this week. Ubisoft's latest release Far Cry: New Dawn took out the top spot and was followed by Metro: Exodus in second place. Just underneath Red Dead Redemption 2 is the all-star anime fighting game Jump Force, published by Bandai Namco.
On the Nintendo front, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe has dropped from the sixth to the seventh spot and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is hanging in at ninth place. Meanwhile, FIFA 19, a game also available on the Switch, has dropped down to fifth and Microsoft's new Xbox One release Crackdown 3 was completely off the charts, making its debut in 13th place. Noticeably, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has also fallen out of the top ten.
Here's a look at this week's top ten all formats chart (physical sales only):
1. (New) Far Cry: New Dawn
2. (New) Metro: Exodus
3. (1) Red Dead Redemption 2
4. (New) Jump Force
5. (2) FIFA 19
6. (4) Resident Evil II
7. (6) New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe
8. (3) Kingdom Hearts III
9. (7) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
10. (5) Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

smash is now off the top10 lists so sad
Couldn’t care less about crackdown....
Thing is, why would anyone pay money for Crackdown 3 when they can get it on gamepass? Therefore reaching 13 in the charts when all evidence points to the game being mediocre/bad is pretty impressive.
I do have gamepass myself but I am not going near Crackdown 3, it has always looked like a rubbish game to me.
Why is far cry number one
Just wait till yoshi hits the charts
Wow, great to see Metro Exodus doing so well. I can't put it down - Great game. Next up is ANTHEM 🤔
There won't be anything new up there for Switch for at least another month.
@sandman89
Because more people bought Far Cry than any other game last week. Generally how it works.
@SBandy really? I had no idea
@Agramonte don’t buy Anthem, or at least wait a week-month for EA to to say that this game is failing in sales so they price cut it by 50% like any other of their games (but fifa) in last few years....
Sad to see SSBU out of the top 10, but it make sense in the UK, especially with 3 big new multi-platform games that came out this week
And how fifa is still here? Let EA die already
Wonder what will be the next chart topper for the Switch. Can't imagine Yoshi is going to be there or there abouts. Probably Mario Maker 2? The direct was great with lots to look forward to, but there's nothing releasing this side of summer that is going to be the next big hit i don't think. Sad really.
Why is Resident Evil II, Kingdom Hearts III and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 in bold??
Is it because they will never be released on Switch? If so, shouldn't most of them be in bold??
@Scottwood101 That seems the best bet, but I'd be kinda surprised if SMM2 managed to hit #1, it seems a little more niche than Odyssey, for example.
The Wii U ports live on
It's honestly kind of amazing to me every time, just how different the charts are in the UK compared to Japan or NA. Do you guys put something in the water over there or what? XD
@Heavyarms55 Its not AS bad as it used to be.
Now if Crackdown 3 hit number 1 we would have a national crisis...
It makes me wonder if Nintendo pushed back that last Direct just to give Mario U Deluxe more time to sell. I wonder how many copies would have sold if Mario Maker 2 had been announced earlier.
I am playing New Super Mario Bros on ds and it is superb. Is the second installation more of the same? That would be what I'd want from the game.
Interesting chart this week. I'm pretty surprised to see Jump Force debut that high up. It is also a shame to see that Crackdown has become such a mess. I actually loved the first one on the 360, I thought that it was great fun, but the sequel was a huge misfire... it's a shame that they didn't learn from that. I am also surprised to see Smash leave the top ten, but I feel like it will return.
The UK are obsessed with their shooters and soccor games.
@michellelynn0976 I'm not
@michellelynn0976 only 3 of those are shooters, and only 1 football game so... your wrong?
@Panda943 No.
@Heavyarms55
Swap out FIFA for Madden and I'm not sure how this chart looks that much different from an American chart. Do popular franchises like Mario, Call of Duty, Far Cry, Resident Evil, Mario Kart, Red Dead Redemption, Metro, Kingdom Hearts, etc. tend not to get into the American Top 10? I don't see what's so strange or unusual about this chart that would suggest that something's being put in the water in the UK. To me it looks like a fairly standard Western chart.
@michellelynn0976
There are more Mario games in the Top 10 than soccer games, so maybe the UK is more obsessed with Mario than soccer!
Enjoying Crackdown like it's 2007.
@Haywired
Heavyarms55 just hates Fifa with the fury of a thousand suns for some reason. I wouldn't pay attention!
Oh no Crash is gone, damn you FIFA.
@Tantani I got it for free with an upgrade
Yeah the demo needed lots of work. The Division 2 is a few weeks after. I did the Beta test and it runs / looks great. EA will need to put ANTHEM on sale for sure if not fixed by that point.
With Mario Maker 2 announced potentially reducing NSMBU Deluxe's sales and with the 3DS pretty much dead at this point, I wonder if we're going to return to Wii U era charts with nothing Nintendo in the top 10 for a few months.
Smash out didnt see that comming,
Wouldn’t count out Smash just yet. The UK makes up a very small share of the gaming market, and Nintendo historically has had a harder time there for whatever reason.
@Heavyarms55 like @Haywired mentioned, Outside of FIFA - UK and USA are usually very similar for the most part.
And the UK chart usually looks like the EU chart when sites actually report on it

So more like "what do they put in the water in japan"
Smash Bros Ultimate ranked at #11 so it's not like it "dropped off" hard or anything.
KH3 is already below NSMBU DX and RE2. The weekly drop-offs have been huge, even by JRPG standards.
@Haywired you got a point. Lol
@diwdiws 3 in the top 10, so no.
@DABYX good.
