At the Nintendo Switch Nindies Summer Showcase last year, there was one game about a goose that captured everyone's hearts. Developed by the Melbourne-based Australian developer House House, Untitled Goose Game was originally due to arrive early on in 2019.
Unfortunately, in the latest update, this slapstick-stealth-sandbox style game has been pushed back until later in 2019. The developer broke the news via Twitter:
At this stage, we're not sure whether or not to blame this delay on the goose stealing the sign, but that's definitely what the developers are doing. If it is due to "circumstances beyond" its control, who knows what might have happened.
If you did miss the initial reveal in 2018, Untitled Goose Game is a title coming to the Switch eShop, where you take control of a goose on the loose in an unsuspecting village of innocent bystanders. You'll be waddling around town playing pranks, stealing hats and honking about.
So, how are you feeling about this delay? Are you happy to hold out until later on in 2019? Leave a comment below.

This game is a laughfest waiting to happen. Sucks to hear about the delay, but I bet it'll be worth it in the end.
This is fowl news.
Has stealth elements to.
Metal Goose Solid.
Goose? Goose? GOOOOOOOSE!
Will be curious to see if they can take a funny premise and nice visual style and actually turn it in to a game you won't be bored of after an hour.
The game looks like it'll be a lot of fun if they get it right. Keen to give it a go but not fussed about the delay. Got plenty of games to play as it is so it'll be ready when it's ready.
@bluemage1989 It could be an hour long and if the price is $5 and it has some replayability I'd still buy it and love it. Kamiko comes to mind. Different kind of game, but good value for the cost.
This is only so that they can release the prequel game Duck Duck first. Then in 2020 we'll get the complete goose saga in a collection titled Duck Duck Goose.
It would be funny if they release other games and this is just something that keeps getting pushed back. Kind of like Jack Black's gaming videos on youtube.
Still looking forward to sneaking around as a goose once the delay is over.
I was wondering about this game recently... I goose I’ll just have to wait...
@PortablexombieV2 Jablinski’s videos are a lot better than if he played modern games. Somehow the joke of the El Gato not working doesn’t get old.
Guess their goose... wasn’t cooked.
I’m looking forward to seeing more about this game. Could be in the same fun pile for me as Katamari and Pool Panic.
The Metal Gear Solid jokes are making me crave Twin Snakes on Switch! Other MGS games would be awesome too!
This game looks fun. I'll probably have to check it out when it drops.
@JackEatsSparrows Pool Panic and Katamari are such great Switch games! I'd like more games like them, and sequels too!
@60frames-please I just started over in PP the other day and I still chuckle at some levels. I’m thinking of trying Donut County next.
lmao... now they got my gander....
Untitled Goose Game's release date is still Untitled, it seems.
That's fine if it means a better and bigger game. Also, it seems like the final title is "Untitled Goose Game" which isn't something you really expect to see from developers.
Wow, between this and King of Cards, most of my top anticipated titles are delayed.
please give me the game; ever since it was announced two years ago all I have wanted to do is ruin people's lives as an a**hole goose
I've been checking eShop almost everyday since the new year for a release date. Quite a bummer for the delay, but if the delay polishes the game for good, then I'll be back to the horrible cuckoos of breath of the wild for now.
I read that as untitled GROOSE game coming. I was thinking how weird it is that Nintendo are make a game about Groose from Skyward Sword.
Can’t wait for this game... but I guess I’ll have to. It looks hilarious.
Hm, shame that the release date got all loosey-goosey!
@JackEatsSparrows Pool Panic has such a great dovetailing of music, visuals, and gameplay. It cracks me up!
One time I was hanging out with this woman who had some fear of geese. We were at a riverside where there was a gaggle of geese. There was one particularly large goose. I told her "you don't have to worry, they won't hurt you". Then I stuck out my hand and this goose bit me and caused my finger to bleed! She screamed, and that was the end of making friends with geese! Hopefully we can bite people and make them bleed a little bit in this game : )
I was wondering why there was nothing mentioned abot this game during the recent Nindies Direct. Know I know...
Damn it was waiting to setting the goose loose about this hoose
Geese won't allow to be depicted as bullies, so they ganged up on the developers.
@Bunkerneath Honks Mon!
The goose ate their homework.
I'm just glad to have an update! Now I can pick up Ape Out without worry of a certain Goose making an unexpected arrival. I do want to give this crazy little game my undivided attention once it does release. Honk!
This is the best comments section ever. Honk honk.
This game will be well worth a gander.
I'm so glad we live in a universe where a game about a goose is one of the most anticipated games of 2019
I'm genuinly excited for this game, but I'm fine waiting a little longer.
I might take a gander
