Sonic Mania is pretty darn good but it can be a tad buggy at times, from minor issues to problems that have frustrated some players. It's taken a short while, but the first update to tackle fixes seems to be rolling out.
The official social channels for the mascot announced the news.
At the time of publication the update hasn't kicked in on our copy (even after manually checking for updates), though as it's rolling out it'll hopefully reach everyone soon. Rather humorously some responding to the tweet have been joking that the update is really a meme; the social media channels are reaping what they sow.
We'll keep an eye out for the update, in any case.

The Super Sonic button is a godsend, makes such a huge difference honestly, I no longer have to be scared when I jump now.
I wonder if we'll ever get new content for this game.
Glad this is happening. The home button glitch is actually pretty annoying when I'm done playing the game. Sometimes it refuses to quit out.
Home button glitch for sure, and hopefully some of the spots in certain acts, like the one screenshotted above, where theres a secret area filled with ice blocks and the game crashes every time.

Glad they are fixing things. I still haven’t bought it, but will if a sale comes around.
Would love it if it made blue sphere easier😉 Or give people an option to practice it and the Sega CD bonus stages outside of the main game.

Sonic Mania is a great game. A retro sonic game like the ones I grew up with and for only $20.00! Honestly if Sega makes a S3&K remake, I will buy it 12 times over.

I have only had the home button glitch a couple times. But when I am playing on the train and it's my stop, that can be an issue. lol

Wonderful, a Super Sonic button is exactly what I wanted from the start.
Tails and Knuckles needed it even more, since they lose the ability to fly/glide until they turn super.

i hope they fixed the manual...it worked right after the game came out but has been broken for a while now

Ditch that 10 minute time limit too! Very annoying when battling a boss and you just drop dead due to that.

Finally? These glitches discouraged me from playing this game when it was released.
Cool! I haven't played Sonic Mania yet despite buying it on release, so it will be nice to play it with these fixes.
Now they just need to fix the PC version. Get rid of Denuvo please Sega, my PC friend hates your freaking DRM which you purposely include.

Good to hear it's finally getting released. My Switch actually locked itself into Sleep Mode because it locked up my Switch. Had to send it to Nintendo to get it fixed. Got it back working but Nintendo broke the flap that cover the game cards on my unit :/ One problem at a time
@mikegamer you can only go super sonic if you have collected all chaos emeralds. So it's a reward for your shouting at the screen for jumping at the wrong time and falling off the edge of the level whilest chasing after a stupid ufo and having to try and find another big ring on the level to do exactly the same thing as last time
I want it physical or not at all.

@NoPhysicalNoBuy pretty sure it was a digital only game, many budget games do that nowadays because when they're selling it for $20 it is often not very cost efficient to open an entire factory production line for it.
@ShadJV That's the one! I never get tired of seeing it! When I played the PC version it was patched out
