I'd have thought at least one, if not both of the remaining Bit.Trip games would have been released, but there's not been a single title since January - to be honest I think other than the odd bit of Taiko no Tatsujin and a spate of VC gaming I haven't switched the thing on in all that time, but I still keep looking.

Anyone have a clue as to what's happening? Has Nintendo just pulled the plug over there? DSiWare is still getting 1-2 titles a week and there's VC content, but it feels like the WiiWare boat has well and truly sailed...

Last I checked, the Japanese weren't into indie development. They probably don't have many games being developed for Wiiware over there.

They are, very much so. I could shoot off a list of links to Japanese indie games but I'm not in the mood for searching my bookmarks right now. (EDIT: Not that Nintendo is looking to distribute smaller indie titles anyway...) Needless to say, almost all of them are playable only on the PC.

Yeah, this. I don't think WiiWare has been a big hit for customers or developers even in Japan. The service seems to be a lost cause at this point. Hopefully Nintendo really focuses on its digital distribution service with the 3DS eShop and gets it right this time.

Mmm, Japanese WiiWare dessert.

Loose your heart like a clumsy bell.

Well, I'm one for one at least, heheh. And I too hope Ninty does better with the 3DS shop.
